Arrival Story:
We were originally looking for a Border Collie in the year '09. But then I saw an ad for a purebred, longhaired German Shepherd puppy. I was immediately attracted. When we arrived at the "owner's" house we found out that she was a stray. Loving her from first sight we waited several weeks for us to get her. Finally, we were accepted and we have had Crystal since.

Crystal is a Sheltie x German Shepherd mix at 40 pounds. She is 21 inches at the shoulder. She has multiple fear issues with flashlights, cameras, and thunderstorms, also various loud noises. But even with all her problems [even patella luxation] we love her!

I am so happy! Do you know why? Well, It has been 90 degrees or more around here and that means LOTS AND LOTS of... WALKS! I am so happy. Yesterday we took more than five walks and today we took four! I was so happy because she usually sticks with one walk a day, maybe two. Today I also got to say hi to my friends adult Plott Hound x Boxer and her young Jack Russel mix [we aren't sure what her breeds are]. I even got to say hi to a [semi]aggressive Springer Spaniel and she didn't bite me :D Loving attention, especially from other dogs.

Although I did get into a fight the other day, but it was all noise, no actual biting. NO ONE GOT HURT :D

Dear Diary,

Some people & dogs may, or may not know, I suffer from many fears. One of them, THUNDERSTORMS! Even the word frightens me. Well, several days ago one rumbled through my town, and I hid for dear life. I shook and shook and panted and hid under my humanmom's legs and her blanket. I was sure I was going to die. Around midnight the storm died down, so humanmom went upstairs to sleep. Of course I had to sleep under her bed! I was scared!
