All about the life of Kohaku Inu

First trip to Petsmart

My last two diary entries didn't work due to bugs still in the system, I'm guessing? Anyway--starting a new one...hope this works! *crosses paws*

So as part of my effort to "socialize" Kohaku, I took him to Petsmart, since that is the place to be. And...lets just say mission accomplished. He was the star of the entire store, haha. Every person I passed wanted to pet him, and he ate up all the attention, especially from the kids. Every person asked me what breed he was. I must have said "shiba inu" at least 20 times, to which I invariably got the response, "What? Shiba..emu?" and would have to repeat it again. The funniest part was the Petsmart employees themselves. They were absolutely in love with Kohaku. The entire time I was getting his new nametag engraved, he was being held and cuddled by three of them. They told me I have to bring him back at least once a week just so they can see him again ;]. And as I was leaving, I happened to meet another shiba owner! THAT was unexpected, because shibas are really not that common in Idaho as far as I know. She didn't have her dog with her, but we struck up a little conversation. I was told that her shiba sheds a LOT, to the point where they actually vaccuum the fur off her (lol) but that every hair was worth it, because she makes an amazing watchdog. Anyway...it was cool meeting another shiba owner. All in all I had a great time talking to people and watching Haku enjoy the attention he got. It was great.
