Arrival Story:
My mother had already decided on the breed, and attended a JRT dog show nearby. There was a breeder there with her show dogs and some pups that were for sale. Mixed in with the 8-week-old pups was Casey, who was 16 weeks at the time. A family had purchased Casey, and returned him 2 weeks later, saying he was deaf. The breeder had then taken him to UPenn for hearing tests, and his hearing was perfect. In the meantime, she had become attached to the dog, and decided to keep him, so he was not for sale. Mom fell in love with his smart face and calm temperment, and convinced the breeder to sell Casey to her.

Bio:
We've never seen a JRT with a temperment as gentle and relaxed as Casey's. He is welcoming and friendly to all people and dogs, and clearly identifies the differences in the elderly and children. He is a therapy dog at several local nursing homes, and can often be seen with his front paws perched on the arm of a wheelchair, gently licking fingers. Of course, at home it's a different story, as he runs his laps at top speed in the track he's worn to dirt in the grass, and jumps to shoulder height at the back door, wanting to get out.
