Tennis balls. Woody is certifyably OCD over tennis balls. The smell of a new Wilson makes him swoon.

Woody has yet to decline any food. Ever. He has even eaten a box of tea bags.

Favorite Walk:
He likes walking down Murray Avenue in Squirrel Hill, because he can duck his head into all the pizza places, delis, and bakeries to take a sniff.

Best Tricks:
Woody can spin like a top! He also sits, gives paw, rolls over, and will one day learn to dog dance. His worst trick was eating one pound of dark chocolate, which had to be pumped from his stomach.

Arrival Story:
I’d been walking dogs at Animal Friends for a while before I even noticed him. Aloof and content to lay in the back of his cage, he was actually easy to pass by. Out in the play yard, though, he was eager to cuddle and engage me in games. I decided to bring him home for a foster period. Having recently put a beautifully behaved dog to rest, my family and I were confused and dismayed when he quickly asserted himself as King of the Household. Who was this dominant dog who bolted from our yard, tore apart our garbage and terrorized our cat? Convinced that we wouldn’t be able to keep him, we turned to Animal Friends’ obedience classes for help. The rewards have been immeasurable. Woody is now very proud to perform a dazzling array of party tricks! Woody still enjoys obedience classes at Animal Friends, but best of all, he enjoys pleasing his adoring family. We’re so glad that we stuck by him!
