Arrival Story: It is unbelievable that a pup like Magnum is in a rescue, but there ya go! We actually got him through Paul Pipitone of Dogs Best Friend. He was contacted by a friend who found this guy wandering the streets! Unable to find the owner, Magnum ended up with us. And we couldn't be happier!
Magnum is only about 6 months old and still growing. With timing being everything, just when we agreed to take him, Lindsey offered to foster a dog. And what would be the breed that Lindsey has the most experience in??? Say it with me ~ German Shepherds!!! I love when things work out that way. :)
Now that she has had him a few days, I asked Lindsey to tell us about Magnum. Here is what she shares:
"He is a very calm dog overall. Nothing really seems to bother him... I've had him around my other dogs, people, and will try him around my cats soon. He does not like to be left alone but he is getting better about it. As for size, he seems young still so I believe he still has some growing up to do. Plus, he has a lot of filling out to do! He was super skinny when I first got him and he didn't want to eat at first, but now he has his full appetite so it's starting to improve.
As for as obedience, he knows a few commands such as "come here" and "go to bed". I'm still trying to work on others. For going outside, he walks really well on the leash! Does not pull a bit. I tell him "go potty" a couple times and then he immediately goes. Sometimes he barks when he needs to go out.
As for some random stuff, he is a very loyal dog!!! He follows me wherever I go, even to the bathroom. He has barked a few times a strangers but that's just his protective side. No aggression shown whatsoever. The poor pup before didn't even know how to play and now he's starting to play with my dogs and be a lot happier. I see him wagging his tail A LOT more :)
I really have nothing negative to say about him. He's a great dog and I can't wait to see him go home with a nice family. I would like to see him go with a family that does have another dog because I do think it would be good for him."
And this, my friends, is why we love our fosters. Because she has worked so closely with Magnum, Lindsey can share insights that we would never have been able to garner in a large kennel environment. Thanks Lindsey!!!

We are doing very well! I am now living in Orlando, although I still have fond memories of my youth in Deltona. Recently I was taken on a road trip all the way to Chisholm MN. I got TONS of exercise and I got to smell all sorts of new things. I really enjoyed my vacation.
