I've been love tagged

My friends Cherokee, Spuds & my brother Turkey have love tagged me.

Actually, it is part of a new thing going around Dogster, it's called "You are loved!" Here's how it goes: Pick 3 dogsters who you think are just fantastic and tell a little about why you feel that they are so pawsome! Be sure to tell them how much they are loved with a p-mail or a rosette! It's really hard for me to pick just 3 doggers cause I love all my pals! They are all special to me, but, I'll try to narrow it down to three:

My first pick is my Jakey Poo. He is the most handsome yellow lab my eyes have ever fallen upon. he is my boyfriend and he is wonderful. He's kind and considerate and we go to Fatboy's together nearly every day. I love ya Jakey Poo. His name is really Jake but I call him Jakey Poo.


The second doggie I am going to Love Tag is Peanut. She and I became friends this year and she is such a sweetie. I love her to pieces. When I had my sugery she sent me a yellow fish squeeky toy that I absolutely love.

The third doggie I'm tagging is actually not a dogster member. It's maximus and i am sure you all read the story of him being tied up and set on fire. He went to the rainbow bridge. He deserves a lot of love. There are a lot of us that have read his story and I just want him to k now there are a lot of pups and people he never met that love him.

Update

Hey everyone. I got my stitches out this morning. Dr. B was concerned i was not using my leg. However, he said I can be out of the crate during the day as long as I am supervised, but have to sleep in it at night at least another month. Mommy gets to start walking me, but not up hill, on flat surfaces only. They have to start doing exercises on my leg too and if I keep protecting my leg and not using it I have to go back to Dr. B. I still have to be on a lead when I go outside and he doesn't want me being too overly active.

My Progress

Hello. Mommy says i am doing so well. I am back to eating my normal portios of food but still not using my leg. but momma says i'm pretty quick for using three legs. She has to keep an eye on me or i get away.

I took my last mandatory pain pill last night. I am so excited because my birthday is tomorrow an i've overheard momma talking about making me a doggy birthday cake.

My full 1st day home

I am feeling a little better today. However, I will only eat if mommy and daddy feed me out of their hands. I'm getting plenty of water to drink and momma even took me outside a while and set with me so I could get out of the crate a little while.

I'm happy to be home and am going to take it easy so I can get well and play with my brother and sissy.

I'm Home

Well I got to come home today. Mommy picked me up and she cried when she saw me. They shaved my back leg all way up to my hip and shaved my front leg where my IV was in. I have about a 5 inch incision down my back leg from the acl surjery and my hair above my eyelid is shaved and I have stitches there as well where they removed a growth/tumor.

Mommy says it's hard seeing me in pain and so weak. My vet told mommy when I had my original tests before my surjery I was a very strong dog because I did not show pain. Mommy's little strong pup has been strong so long and now it's time to let it be. I am on three different medicines for two weeks and get all my stitches out in 2 weeks. I'm allowed to walk a little but couldn't do much and mommy ended up carrying me back in both times she took me to the bathroom.

Mommy bought me a huge crate big enough for a person. she's got blankets, pillows and lots of toys and I was happy to go in it when she brought me back in tonight. Sadie keeps coming over to the crate to check on me and has run Turkey off a few times I guess she thinks he is going to bother me. I do not have a lot of strenght right now but I am only allowed to be on a leash and up and around when I go to the bathroom.

Please remember me and keep your paws crossed for me and mommy both. She really is a good mommy and always goes above and beyond when we need it.

Rehabilitation

Well, mommy sit me down and we had a talk last night. She told me that the first 30 days after my surjery, I can't really do anything besides go outside to the bathroom. I can't play, run, walk a l ot or even be a typical dog. She also told me this could go on for an additional 30 days after that and then the vet will let me start walking a little bit more each day.

All I can say is what am I supposed to do? Daddy will be home with me for 2 weeks after my surjery, but I am going to be plain bored. (crosses her arms and frowns)

Oh well, mommy says it's for the best and I have to trust my mommy cause she has never ever let me down.

I have to have surjery

Hello everyone. My daddy took me to my vet appt. today and I have to have surjery. I was on my medicine from March 20 until April 3rd, two days ago, and done fairly well. A few days before my last dose I started limping again. Last night, I didn't want to use my leg at all.

So on April 26th, I will undergo surjery to repair my right rear ACL. Until that time, three weeks from now, I will be on a stronger medicine to help with the pain and inflammation. Actually, I have torn both my left and right rear ACL, however, the left one seemed to heal. I will also during surjery have a growth removed from my eye lid. The vet says if we don't now, it could keep my eye lid from functioning like it should.

Please everyone pray for me that everything goes well.

Progress Report

Mommy says I am acting better than I ever have. She called the vet TUesday and they said that if I don't have surgery I will probably have to stay on my meds long term with proper monitoring of my liver and kidneys as well to make sure it doesn't affect them.

I felt so good last night when momma put me in the exercise pen on my rope, i jerked and snapped my collar buckle in two. She had to find my old collar and says i have to be feeling good. She just hopes the medicine is not making me feel better and me not actually getting better.

My 1 Week Progress Notes

Hello everyone. It has been one week since my tests when I found out my right rear ACL is torn. I've been taking my medicine and limiting my exercise and play time. But, mommy says I was doing really well but this morning I was limping. Mommy says she will limit my exercise and play even more.
I keep trying to rest it and get better because she told us we could go on the boat and go swim when I am better.

Well mommy says we have to go so I can rest again.
