Arrival Story: I was driving to my parents home on a busy 2 lane highway. I looked over and seen the saddest, sickest dog I had ever seen. Skin hanging off her face and blood pouring to the ground. Her head was just hanging because she was so miserable and really near death. I stopped on the opposite side of the road and waited because passing traffic would not let me go past to get to her. I finally got across and picked her up (knowing now how timid she is with people, I know she was miserable or she would have run). This dog had no fur, just scales and blood and you could count each and ever rib. I called my vet tech on the way home and she said she probably had mange and to crate her and try to get her to eat until Monday morning when we could get to the vet. Finally got her to the vet and yes it was mange, non contagious, and come to find out later, my vet did not think she would make it, she was so bad. I brought her home and put her in her crate and had to feed her pedilite because she would not eat. After dipping her every day and then putting her on a course of promeris Baby completely recovered and now weighs 44 lbs...yes she is overweight but I can't stop her when I know how starved she was before. She is a loving dog (but does have food aggression understandably) We love her!
