Giving snuggles and kisses to her momma! Running at top speed, taking a dip in the river on a hot day, and chasing squirrels. :)

When I pet another dog, especially if I talk to them as I give them snuggles! She gets so jealous and starts whimpering!

Favorite Toy:
She is not a big fan of toys, she'd rather explore, or snuggle!

Treats- anything with meat, or cheese.

Favorite Walk:
Any and every walk is great for her! She also loves the dog park.

Best Tricks:
She can fly! Her jumping skills blow me away! She is very graceful and athletic.

Arrival Story:
My mom had been wanting to adopt a dog for some time, so I went with her to the local shelter. Mocha was the first dog I saw and it was love at first sight! I was hesitant to look at the other dogs. First thing I noticed was her smile and the light in her eyes. When my mom brought her home, things went well at first. But soon we realized that she had some unique tendencies. She was very timid around men, to the point that every noise startled her. She was overprotective at times, feeling the need to bark every time a man enters the room or is in the vicinity. There was no true aggression in her, just fear acted out. We realized she may have been abused. In addition to that, she had no real training. Her last owners left her outdoors all day, and in a crate all evening. She is not used to coming when called, or relying on a human for guidance. She also has vast amounts of energy, far more than one would expect for a six-year old dog. It quickly became apparent that Mocha would need special care. We decided that it would be best for me to take take her to my Portland, Oregon home. The biggest challenge for me was that I already had a German shepherd mix, Sierra, has a history of being aggressive with other dogs. She's been my only dog for the last 11 years. I was worried that bringing Mocha home would be a threat to her. My boyfriend also has a basset hound, but he's about as passive as they come so no trouble there. Would she fit into our herd? As it turns out, the answer is a resounding YES! Sierra and Mocha adapted to each other with the first day of introduction. Much to my surprise, they have actually developed a friendship! And Mocha has really come a long way towards overcoming her fears. She never fails to brighten up my day and make me smile! I am honored to give her a loving home for the rest of her life! :)
