Arrival Story:
Hi! I'm Mandi. I am a three-year-old German Shorthaired Pointer. My mom rescued me upon the recommendation of my wonderful shelter friend. Mom has owner-trained me into the wonderful service dog that I am now. I hope that my continued success as a service dog encourages others to look to rescue dogs as service dog candidates! If you are disabled under the ADA and want more information about selecting and training a shelter dog as a service dog, please contact my mom!
Bio:
I am my mom's best friend and forever partner. Mom is always telling everyone how greatly she benefits from the help I provide for her daily. Some of my tasks include opening doors, doing pressure work, picking up dropped objects, alerting mom to triggers, bringing medications, responding to medical conditions, helping guide mom to friends and exits, and doing counter-balance work.
I give my mom the independence a college student deserves. Because of me, has been able to continue her education and to strive to improve her life and the lives of others. The work I do for my mom keeps her safe and is often life-saving.
