Lewis LOVES to be with people! He's the friendliest dog I've ever seen. He really doesn't want to have to be alone.

Pet-Peeves:
Don't touch Lewis' toes! He HATES to have his toes trimmed, even with the Pedi Paws. You would think I was killing him, the way he acts!!

Favorite Toy:
He has a "pink baby" (teddy bear) that is almost as big as he is and he will carry it all around the house with him!

Favorite Food:
ANYTHING! I haven't seen him spit anything out except a french fry that was too hot, but even then he picked it right back up!!

Favorite Walk:
Lewis loves the walk out to the car and from the car to my classroom. He's my little furry teacher's assistant!

Best Tricks:
Lewis finally learned how to completely roll over! He also will do a half roll over so that I can clean his belly.

Arrival Story:
Lewis was at the animal shelter where my group volunteers and rescues from. My husband and I were returning a dog that we had taken out for a meet and greet and there was Lewis! He had a collar with tags and his owners had been contacted. They said they would come and get him but that had been 3 days ago (the mandatory 72 hours) and they still hadn't come to get him. So, we took him. Of course, we said that if they showed up for him, we would give him back but obviously, they never did, which is best for him!

Bio:
Lewis is an "unofficial" therapy dog. He goes to school with me and helps my students, some of which are new to the country, acclimate to their new situation. Some of them had to leave their pets behind when coming here and Lewis is a comfort to them. For some of them, learning English (which is what I teach) is extremely difficult because they had limited education in their countries, so Lewis is a calming factor and helps them to calm down and focus more in class. He's a great friend to them and a wonderful assistant for me! :)
