Arrival Story: We were looking for a second dog to join Jessie. I saw Lucy on Kijiji and called to see if she was still available. She was and stole our hearts as she reminds us of my previous heart dog Ollie who passed over about 2.5 years before. We are her third home. As a 6 week old pup the 'breeder' was going to euthanize her as she was so much smaller than her furry all-black brothers. A woman rescued her, then at 7 weeks old, passed her to the family we got her from. They never really intended on keeping her and gave her to their then 7yo to raise until they could find her a home. Almost 2 years later she was being muzzled and tied to a tire in the yard when the e-collar didn't work to keep her from chasing bunnies from their unfenced yard and chewed the filter off their above ground pool and dig holes all over the yard while they were at work 11 hours a day. At that point they realized they really needed to find her another home.
Bio: She has never run away from us, nor dug or chewed since we keep her busy with training and daily one hour hikes and hikes & bike rides. She is learning several dog sports like Treibball, canine freestyle and Rally O. She is very toy and food motivated and loves learning using clicker training. She also learns by observing Jessie (which is great for behaviors we like and not so for behaviors we don't).
She is a great buddy to Jessie and gives her much confidence. Lucy is one of the stars of two youtube channels that help other dog parents learn how to train their dog using positive reinforcement approach and a demo service dog.
