Arrival Story:
Monkey was a rescue from a puppy mill in the midwest and brought to NY. She was used as a breeder only and the vet told us that she has had many babies :( I had been searching for 3 years for a Cavalier - through AKC breeders, but never found the right one -especially because a 8wk old puppy is tiny (and $$$$)and my other dog is BIG. When I saw her on a local shelter website - I ran down there immediately. I was #2 on the adoption list, but I got her. She warmed up to me pretty quickly, walks on a leash like a champ, and is potty trained. She's still a little nervous and barks at dogs bigger than her so we're working with a trainer to make her more secure. She is so sweet and is still trying to integrate into our home with Diesel (and visa versa), but she is the biggest blessing in my life. She is all love.
