Leave a bone for Ellie

Nicknames: Elkins (the name she came with, ugh), Ellie Bellie, Ellie buh Nellie, Munchkin Butt

Quick Bio:
 Likes: ATTENTION!

Pet-Peeves: Going outside in the rain, going to bed in her crate

Favorite Toy: Me

Favorite Food: Anything

Favorite Walk: Only been on one so far, but it was fantastic!

Best Tricks: Anything, as a stray she knew better then to be picky

Arrival Story: Ellie came into the clinic as a stray. The people that brought her in where thinking about keeping her until they realized her skin looked so bad due to having sarcoptic mange. They were really nice though and left a deposit for us to treat her and see if she could be placed. I got the honors of shaving the worst mats off and then dipping her. Thankfully all Ellie did was lick my hands when the dip stung her sores. Ellie was on probation to see if she was a biter and if so she would have been euthanized. While dipping her we fell in love with each other and I voluntered to foster Ellie. Today her mange is gone and slowly but surely her hair is growing back. She found her forever home after three short weeks at my house.

Bio: Ellie is between 1-2 years old and is 16 lbs. When she first came in we thought she was a cockapoo, but since being shaved we think she might also have some terrier in her. Ellie has been spayed and is up-to-date on her vaccinations. She is also heartworm negative and is on preventative. Ellie was somebody's puppy who apparently was dumped when she got older. I say this because Ellie was already completely housetrained and crate trained (although she isn't fond of the crate) when she came home with me. She can be hyper when you first come home and insists on attention, but she calms down after a few minutes. Ellie also loves to snuggle and give kisses. In general she would prefer human company, but she does well with other animals. She is good with my cats and has never tried to bite them, although she does try to chase them occasionally. She has been around kids some and does ok, but children under five would not be recommend since she can be hyper. Ellie is also leash trained and knows basic commands such as sit. She loves to go on walks. The only bad thing about Ellie is she will not stay in a fence-she is a climber. Thus Ellie must be an inside only dog.

WOW! My foster mommy has already found me a forever home. They called her earlier this week, but she didn't tell me anything about it cause she didn't want to get my hopes up. Then today she took me to meet them and I had a new home. My new mommy and daddy seem really nice. I gave the lady some kisses and she was excited to be able to take me home and snuggle. My new home consists of a daddy, mommy, two human kids that are older, and a poodle puppy. My new mommy said that I'll usually be at home with somebody so I'll have plenty of cuddle time. I'm so excited to be going to my forever home. Cadbury and my foster mommy seemed to be the only ones sad to see me go. Harley and Murphie looked ecstatic while Crathes looked like he could care less. I'll never forget my foster mommy and siblings.

For some reason my first owners kicked me outside. I don't know why-I'm potty trained although I do get hyper sometimes. It was really confusing living on the streets by myself. And since my owners didn't think about getting me spayed I had at least one litter of puppies. Thankfully I finally have a new home. My new mommy says I'm lucky a big dog didn't get ahold of me. She thought I was pregnant again when I first showed up, but I wasn't. That was a fun trick to play on her. Although that meant she spayed me quicker then she intended and she did it with Dr. Ann's help. Because I was living on the streets I came down with a bad case of sarcoptic mange. I was also slightly malnourished and full of worms and fleas. I've cleaned up pretty nice if I say so myslef, although, I do wonder about mommy's grooming skills.
I've been here for a little over two weeks and I'm loving it. Sometimes I don't like having to share with Murphie. I wish he would sleep by himself and leave my new mommy alone. Now that I've finally gotten used to the cats I don't scream like a sissy baby girl when Cadbury pounces on me. Stupid cat. This home is so much better then living on the streets. I first saw my foster mommy when I was taken to the vet as a stray with sarcoptic mange. We fell in love while she was dipping me and mommy said she'd try to find me a forever home. She left me at the clinic for a few weeks just to make sure Murphie wouldn't get mange. Even though everbody at work was really nice I"m glad to be in a real home again. Now I can whack mommy on the shins with my happy tail-she says it feels like a whip whatever that is.
This place is really nice, but I'd love to find a forever home. Plus mommy is going to be starting grad school next fall and won't be able to give me the time and attention I think I need. It doesn't matter to me if I have to share with other animals as long as I can snuggle with my new parents.
