Can't really go on walks anymore due to her heart condition and the arthritis causes inflammation in ther joints which is very painful for her.

Best Tricks:
Lili is too old for tricks, but she still will sit for cheese, despite her arthritic hips.

Arrival Story:
My friend is the director of a rescue, Saving Shibas. She asked me to pull Lili from the shelter and foster her. Lili was found as a stray and in bad shape. She was 15 years old and had never been spayed. She had a heart condition that prevents her from having any surgeries. Because she couldn't be spayed, the shelter almost put her down. Her hips are stiff from arthritis, she is hard of hearing and partially blind from cataracts. Her teeth were in terrible shape and her ears were filthy. The vet said she probably only has about a year to live. We pulled her from the shelter with a deep and abiding promise to the foster coordinator at the shelter that we would not breed the dog under any circumstances. We got Miss Lili cleaned up pretty good. Unlike the other animals, Queen Lili has her very own bedroom, her royal quarters, if you will. Well, after about 6 weeks, we fell in love with Lili and decided that she needed to be part of our family, so we adopted her! We also think that with love and care, she will live much longer than one year. Update 4/09/12 - My lovely Lili passed away this evening. She did live a couple of months past a year. I hope we gave her the comfort and love she needed in her last days. I will miss her. :(
