Likes:
Eating. Tickle monster. Riding in the car. She really likes to snuggle in bed with you even though she can be a bed hog sometimes.

Pet-Peeves:
When ppl call me fatty and say that I should go on a diet! When I get itchy paws. Flying bugs.

Favorite Food:
Everything (as far as I can tell).

Favorite Walk:
Anywhere you are going as long as she gets to come along.

Best Tricks:
snuggling; pretending that she doesn't know "shake/paw"

Arrival Story:
I got this sweet dog from Eleventh Hour Rescue (NJ) two weeks ago. I originally saw her on petfinder.com and fell in love with her picture/description and I hoped that her personality would fit my lifestyle and level of laziness. Luckily for me it was a perfect match!

Bio:
Stevie Nicks weighed in at 95 lbs (for reals!) at the first shelter. She has lost 30 lbs and is still on her diet (her very nice Vet said she still needs to lose another 10-15 lbs). It is going a bit slow since she is so out of shape -- we just go on long walks for now. Hopefully when the weather gets warmer we can go on hiking on the weekends! She now goes to work with me (except when it's raining really hard or exceptionally hot and humid ouside). It takes us a long time to walk there (and back) but she doesn't seem to mind. In fact, she's happy to go off to work in the morning. At work she can be found sleeping in her dog beg underneath my desk. 2007: Miss Nicks was diagnosed with diabetes this year. She is finally regulated (insulin twice daily). She's now very hard of hearing and the arthritis in her knees and back are getting worse, but she still loves to snuggle, go for rides in the car, and go to work with me five days a week. YIKES: Old dog vestibular syndrome. I thought she was having a stoke and rushed her to emergency. Symptoms: started off with falling down, then went to head tilt to the left; could only walk going in a left direction; up and down eye movements. Turned out to be a idiopathic vestibular problem that cleared up within a week. 2008: She was diagnosed with Cushing's disease and is on meds for that too. So far so good on her ACTH tests so the meds seem to be working. 06.05.08: Stevie passed away from aspiration pneumonia following surgery to remove a hemangiopericytoma from her front leg. I am heartbroken.
