We took a short excursion about a week ago to a lady's house in PA.I was a bit nervouse there-lots of other dogs there-most looked like me but there were a few of a different color.I was very nervous whatever were we doing there? Mom never left my side but it was all strange to me.There was a little girl that seemed to want to play but I was too curious as to what was going on.
Well it seems Mom wanted to see if I got along with this little dog-Mom wants me to have company if she isn't around so it seems I will now have a sister. She is a little younger than me and so I will have to do the writing for her dogster page I guess.I will write more when I know more-She will be arriving on Tuesday.

Friday was a great weather day for traveling and Mom and I headed to DE. We arrived at Margie’s and were greeted by a golden pal, Phoebe-what a Cutie! I am twice her size but we loved each other from the start! Margie is also very great. Friday night was Mom and her night out. All you can eat-Blue Crabs.I stayed behind with Phoebe.
Saturday was to be the my day out. First to a pet boutique owned by a friend of Margie’s so Leslie could meet me.Then Beach time! I had a ball-I have never been to the ocean but I loved it. Plenty of toys but of course we both wanted the blue ball. I was a lady though-if Phoebe went after it I allowed her to get it-of course once Phoebe was digging a hole for it-it was fair play and I grabbed it. As far as I am concerned there was no reason for a ball to be in a hole and not my mouth.
I put my head under many times-once a good size wave hit me from behind but what a trooper-I stayed in it. Three little girls came by and wanted to play with us-throwing toys-we,being goldens,of course, “ate this up” as you can well imagine. Margie thought I was a great influence because Phoebe acted braver than ever at “her” beach. As we left, I did try to eat remnants of a horseshoe crab but that didn’t work to my satisfaction since Mom was able to get it out of my mouth.
After this beach we headed to Rehoboth Beach but unfortunately at this time of the year we aren’t allowed on the beach itself. We walked around the stores and was I in for a surprise. Dogs were permitted and welcomed in many places. Dog bowls of water were put out for us. I showed Phoebe that it is alright to drink from them. In NJ I go everywhere with Mom but am not permitted in most stores. What a switch as we went in. People oohed and ahhed over us(hey we are goldens-haha!) Of course I thought all this attention was great-not to mention going in the stores-problem arose when I thought I should have been allowed in ALL the stores and wanted to check them out.
Mom ate at an outdoor café by my side. Of course everyone stopped to say hi and comment how great we were. After we went for coffee and since I figured it was a food place-no pets. Mom stuck her head in first to ask a question but the owner said no problem come on in-dog cookies are
by the sugar and stirrers .It was a great day and I actually laid down in the back seat of Margie’s car on the way back-I was so tired.
Sunday we went back to Rehoboth Beach and sat on the boardwalk in the morning. Phoebe and I needed to meet more friends and of course everyone there should get a chance to meet goldens. Lunch was again at an outdoor café with our mommies and we were very tired pooches. Then off to shopping at the outlets. Here again-pet friendly we shopped LL Bean and Bass. Everyone were very happy to meet us.I should move to DE-I would never be away from mom-haha! We met a couple from NJ that agreed with me-these things aren’t allowed here!
Mom was really proud of me-I am not obedience school anymore but Mom said I was very well behaved.I remembered the commands-and was so good with all the people and especially the children. Margie is a great person-can’t wait to do this again. When Mom and I went to leave we said goodbye to Phoebe-and it was like losing a best friend. But that is ok-we are going to visit again and our moms talk.Well gotta go and post those pics from the weekend for you guys.
