Wait for me!June 14th 2011 9:35 am[ Leave A Comment | 3 people already have ] Did I have fun yesterday! First, Mom took me on a walk because the weather was beautiful, the yellow ball was high in the sky and my ears were blowing in the wind. And I got to sniff a bunch of great things along the walk because there were good smelling trash cans at the end of everyone's yard. And yep, I stopped to take a big sniff of each one of them! Then when I got home, another family member took me on a bike ride. No, I didn't ride on or in a bike of my own, but instead I followed them. I stayed right beside the bike except when I saw a little girl on her bike going the other way. I thought she looked fun and followed her for just a bit then I got called back and happily trotted back to where I should be. We went pretty far and I got a little tired on the way back so we had to stop for breaks. I seem to get tired more easily with my Wobbler's disease. Then I came into the house and took a nap. But before I laid down, I could tell Destiny wasn't feeling very good because she's been limping and crying a little. I'm giving her some space because she seems in pain. Mom's thinking about calling her surgeon but thinks maybe she's just been up on her leg too much. I try to tell her to lay down cause she'll feel better not putting weight on it cause I hear the pawrents tell her that all the time but she doesn't listen very well. I'll keep trying to bark some suggestions at her but she's pretty stubborn!
The great outdoorsJune 13th 2011 7:54 am[ Leave A Comment | 3 people already have ] The family was outside all day yesterday doing yard work and I'm so lucky I got to be out with them. There was a nice cool breeze and it was a lot of fun laying under the trees, in the mulch, in the yard, running down to the woods chasing the wheel barrel. I wish Destiny could have been out all day with me. Mom brought her out to lay down with us for a while, but she kept wanting to get up and move around too much so she had to go back inside. Mom went in later and brought her back out to try again and she was a little better, laying down more. But the pawrents are just trying to protect her because she's been limping a little lately since she's not healed yet. Then Mom was using the pooper scooper in the yard and started chasing me with it but forgot that it's Destiny that's the one that loves to be chased by the scooper, not me! I didn't know what to think about what the crazy lady was doing so I just walked away. Then Dad was digging out a dead tree and two big dirt balls rolled down the hill towards me. That looked like something I'd be interested in so I slowly walked over to one of them, stretched my nose out to sniff it, not getting my body too close of course, and when it didn't bite back, I started playing with it and scratching at it. Yea pals, that was some messy fun! But I had a great time and I slept good last night cause all that layin' around outside makes you sort of tired you know!
Hoping for progressJune 10th 2011 5:53 am[ Leave A Comment | 2 people already have ] Mom talked to the doctor this morning because he wanted to know how I was doing since I took my brace off Monday. Mom told him there hasn't been any change this week. While I rarely whine anymore and I hold my head and tail up now which is good, I'm still waddeling half the time when I walk but I do correct myself, and I'm still dragging my front feet every 4 or 5 steps. I'm glad I feel better, but scared I still could experience paralysis. The doctor said the major improvements all take place in the first 3-6 weeks. It's been 4 weeks now for me so we're going to go another week and if there's not improvement we'll have to try some medicine too. So many of my pup pals have been sending me well wishes which is so nice and makes me smile!
Bath timeJune 8th 2011 5:57 am[ Leave A Comment | 3 people already have ] It was really hot yesterday so Mom thought it'd be a great day for a bath. Hhhmmm, well my definition of a bath is a thing my parent does to wash their walls so I help by shaking vigorously and often. But I think Mom figured that out from when I did it last time so this time she tricked me by taking me out back. I thought we were outside for some play time, but then I saw this snakey thing come out and shoot water everywhere. I tried to escape and when called, I laid down in the middle of the yard. But I'm a good girl so when called again, I had to get up and go over to the water snake. The water was cold, but I have to admit felt pretty good since it was 94 degrees outside. Then the poo came out. I don't mind it so much but they put some on my face then poured water on my nose. Hey now, I'm not a fish! But I got them back because I shook several times (hee, hee) and when I did, they jumped and squirted water on each other! Then they wouldn't let me roll around in the yard to dry off. No fun! So that was my adventure for the day. Watch out for those water snakes all my pup pals!
The brace is offJune 6th 2011 5:15 pm[ Leave A Comment | 2 people already have ] The good news is, the doctor told Mom to take my neck brace off today. The bad news is, the doctor was hoping I would be having more success by now. So he had Mom take the brace off to see if that would help relax me and Mom has to call him in a couple of days to give a report on my status. But I loved having the brace cut off. At first I sniffed it to see what had been hanging around my neck for the past 3 weeks. Then I went around and had everyone scratch my neck and aahh, did that feel good! Then Destiny sniffed my neck and I think was glad to see me looking more back to normal. Then we laid down next to each other and took a nap. Yep, I love my sissy!
Gramma's here!June 5th 2011 6:30 pm[ Leave A Comment | 2 people already have ] Mom and Dad went away for a couple of days and Gramma was here! We love when Gramma comes over because she spoils us. Gramma gave me extra treats and sat outside with me. And she didn't even mind when people walked by and pointed at my funny looking neck brace. Oh yea, and I might get it off tomorrow, woo hoo! Mom has to call the doctor in the morning and give him an update on my status. I'm doing about the same. No new progress but hey, I'm not getting worse. Mom keeps reminding me it's going to take awhile to get all better. But I can tell you, I don't whine at all anymore so it's sooooo great to at least be feeling better. Yyaawwnn, getting tired, going to go curl up in a ball and fall asleep.
Ho HumMay 30th 2011 3:15 pm[ Leave A Comment | 3 people already have ] I'm feeling a little ho hum today. This is the second time I've felt like this since my gold bead implants. Mom talked to a human that had her dobie Syl implanted a few years ago and asked what her progress was at 2 weeks. She said there will be lots of ups and downs along the way and this will be a long process. Mom and I were hoping for a speedy recovery but I guess we have to be patient.
Go TK!May 29th 2011 8:46 am[ Leave A Comment | 1 person already has ] We have a good sniffin feeling our buddy Tony's going to win the Indy 500 today. We'll have our paws in the air cheering him on today. Go TK, woof!
StubbleMay 27th 2011 12:22 pm[ Leave A Comment | 2 people already have ] Ok, don't laugh, but I think my hair's coming in but in little stubble patches! I still have my neck brace on and my neck is shaved under there, but part of my back is shaved too and Dad said I'm starting to get some stubble but not all over yet. Hhmm, so it's not bad enough I look like I stuck my head through a toilet paper roll, but my hair's coming in funny too. But I'm a happy go lucky little girl so it won't bother me so long as no one points and giggles! Destiny was sniffin my stubble today but she knew better than to laugh!
Up and downMay 24th 2011 5:38 am[ Leave A Comment | 4 people already have ] It's been a strange couple of days for me. Two days ago, I was feeling great and Mom took me for a short walk and I was running ahead and being really playful and was very happy and upbeat all day long. But then I wasn't feeling very good yesterday. I've been laying off by myself and when we walked down the street a couple of houses, I was dragging my front feet a lot and walking next to Mom instead off on my own. Mom said I've been acting mopey and is a little worried about me. My sissy was playing with her toys yesterday so she seems to be feeling a little better. She crawled over to me yesterday and we sniffed noses. I wish Mom would have had her camera cause that would have been a cute picture of us two girls. I'm not sure how I'm feeling yet today because it's my nap time this morning so I'm a little tired. Yawn...
