Alarm sounds, 4:30 a.m., check, Mom gets ready and wakes up my human brother, check, Mom comes downstairs and lets me out, check, Mom gets my food bowl ready with food, negative. What? Where's my food Mom? I'm a starving little girl in the morning, even if it is still dark outside. Then Mom reminds me it's Thursday and I have to go back to the doctor to add gold beads in my neck to try and eliminate the last of the Wobblers symptoms I've been having.
So we load into the car and head out for our drive. My belly's growlin and I can't possibly go to sleep just thinkin about going to the doctor. Even though I know the acupuncture doesn't hurt, I'd rather be home. Anyway, we get to the office and the doctor tells Mom he can tell there's an area in my neck that isn't right and requires more of the therapy. Then the doctor tries to take me to the back. I tuck my stub and try to tell him I'd rather not go and want to stay with my humans but he grabs my harness and off we go to the wild blue yonder. Then I hear the doctor tell Mom to come back in an hour and a half to get me. What? Really? No five hour ordeal with anesthesia and shaving my neck and a big neck brace? Nope, not this time, not just to add additional beads. Yea, we're all pretty happy cause with the heat indexes well over 100 here, wearin another brace for a month would have been a little too hot to handle. And I didn't have to get buzzed either! I still have all my neck hair, yea!!! It's not all grown in yet, but it's gettin there so I was glad to hear I wasn't going to lose it.
Let's fast-forward to when Mom comes back to get me...1 1/2 hours on the nose. I got a little nervous being in a cage, not knowin where I was at, so when the nurse got me to bring me to Mom, I piddled. Don't laugh pals, not just on the floor but on my legs and some on my belly. Mom had just given me a bath the day before anticipating the neck brace so she wanted me to be clean since you can't be around water with the brace. So I was a little stinky getting in the car. But guess what. Since I wasn't put way under with medicine (which meant I could eat) and hadn't had breakfast, I was hungry. When Mom and brother stopped to grab an early lunch, they got me a hamburger and bowl of water! My first ever. Yea, I've had ice cream at the drive thru, but never a burger. That was great I must say. That even made up for the fact that I had to have a mini bath in the yard when I got home.
So that's my story for the day. Now we're back to having my pawrents watch my every move and see if I'm making progress. They have to call the doctor in a week to talk to him. It's been a long day already. All the way up and all the way home while I laid down in the backseat, I did not lay my head down at all and I haven't napped much since I've been home so I'm a little, yyyaaawwwnnn, sleepy. This seems like a great time to curl up in my bed and g o t o s l e e p
