Arrival Story:
Scooby was given to the Jerry Green Foundation as a 3 month old puppy. His owners decided that they didn't want puppies after all. Scooby's brother Scrappy was re-homed almost instantly, but Scooby was afraid of strangers, so always hid out of sight. No one adopted him because no one saw him to adopt him. We had been looking to extend our family by one dog, and visited the JG sanctuary a few times looking for the dog that would fit into our existing family. One of the staff distributed sausage to dogs on their way through the kennels. Scooby darted out to have his share, saw us and hid again. We commented to Phil (the man with the sausages) that we had thought the kennel was empty. Phil went into the kennel and enticed Scooby out for the treats. Scooby was jumping up Phil with so much love and happiness in him, and so worried about us strangers he won the heart of his new Mum instantly. She knew Scooby was the one. It took several weeks of sensitive socialisation for the humans and Scooby. Scooby wasn't giving his heart away Willie nilly. We had to win him over very very slowly. Eventually Scooby came home. But we weren't out of the woods yet. There were some major battles for supremacy between Angus and Scooby. You'd think a small young mongrel would submit to an older bigger Doberman. Not Scooby. It wasn't until Scooby was neutered that the household really started to settle down and the family all really bond together. Scooby and Angus are best of buddies now.

Bio:
Angus is a reserved English Gentleman to Scooby's chirpy Pikey. They compliment each other wonderfully. Scooby will bark and charge at trespassers because he knows his big brother is right behind him. He loves his neighbours, their kids and especially their dog Lucy a collie. When we grown ups are having our morning coffee at weekends or school holidays, the kids will be playing, and Scooby and Lucy will be charging in and out of legs, round parked cars, in and out of houses and gardens. They will hold each others throats, legs, paws in their jaws with such playful tenderness. It's a slice of heaven here on earth.
