Boris loves to be petted - so much that he'll become very insistent if you're petting dogs OTHER than him.
Boris is not a fan of unfamiliar men and unfamiliar male dogs. We are working on both.
Boris loves ropes woven out of strips of old t-shirts.
Food in general is Boris's favorite! He has a special spot for bones, though.
Boris needs to learn better leash manners before any serious walking. So far he has been to local parks and Petsmart, but is still a little too enthusiastic for hiking.
Boris is trying his best to master his sister Toki's "go up!" trick on the a-frame.
Boris is one of two dogs that actually came with the house we purchased. The previous owners were moving out of the country and couldn't take them along - and also hadn't found a home for them by moving day. They told us we could keep them or take them to the shelter - how could we not keep them??
Boris was found as a (most likely abused) stray and was taken to Shelby Humane Society, where his previous owners adopted him. His function was a "guard dog," or more accurately an "alarm dog" as he'd only lick you to death. As a result, he never learned any obedience, leash manners, etc. The main issue is that he is very STRONG, so he needs to be taught not to pull. I am currently working on that, as I'd love to take him out as a hiking buddy. He loves being outdoors and around people, so it would be perfect for him (and perfect for me, a hiking dog being a long time dream of mine!).
