Anything, but we only give him high quality dog food. (Blue Buffalo), cow trachea and bully sticks

The dog park, anywhere. He loves to go on long walks!

He can jump very high from the standing position. He also likes to run fast as the wind!!
Arrival Story:
We went to the SoCal Pomeranian rescue showing at the Petco in Yorba Linda. Sammy was originally named Justin Time because the rescue got him just before an unidentified woman was taking him to the shelter. They literally met in the shelter parking lot! Apparently, Sammy was found wandering the streets of Santa Ana. In any case, the moment we saw him and learned that his name was Justin (my son's name) Time, we felt like we needed another Justin in the house.(smile) We decided to name him Sammy because he looks like a miniature Samoyed. We thought him to be a larger bred Pomeranian but later assumed that he was a Pomimo/Pomeskie (Pomeranian? Eskie) We were blessed to get a 2 y/o housebroken dog who looks and acts like a puppy. He is crate trained and behaves at the groomer and vet. However, we noticed that he was in dire need of socialization. He barks at men passing by, unsustainable around other dogs, and bicyclers, runners, and chases my cat! We have him in PetSmart training now and he is showing great promise! We are fully prepared to get him FULLY trained so that he will be a good fit for our family. If not, he will be a good fit for another home. I'm dedicated to being a good steward for my Sammy, in the hopes that he does not have to ever go anywhere near a shelter ever again!
Bio:
We are guessing that he is a Pomeranian/American Eskimo Dog (Japanese Spitz) mix. We plan on getting a DNA test done in the near future. As of July 2011, DNA test completed, Sammy is a miniature American Eskimo!!
