Arrival Story:
The guys in our family wanted a large dog. My husband had a friend whose dog had just had puppies who were part wolf. All of the puppies were black except Chelsea who is blonde, so they chose her. She was five weeks old when we got her. She has been a good companion and a good listener. She has always come when called and stuck around close to home before our yard was fenced.

Poor Chelsea is completely blind in her left eye and has little sight in her right. Her hearing is almost completely gone. And, sadly, she has cancer and has just had a mini stroke. Amazingly, she has not been in any pain until just recently and is now taking medication which controls the pain. Her little "brother" Turbo, has taken it upon himself to be her "seeing-eye" dog and is there to guide her with a nudge from behind to get around at times. Before Turbo came to live with us a little over a year ago, Chelsea was not active anymore, but after she came to the understanding that Turbo was here to stay (she hated him at first and pouted and refused to eat), they became great buddies and soon she was bouncing around and playing with Turbo like she was a puppy again! She is not too sure of her new little "sister" Sadie, but she is tolerant of her. ********************************** Sadly, Chelsea passed away on Monday, June 12, 2006. She had a grand mal seizure and another stroke late Sunday night. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her. **********************************
