Arrival Story:
We adopted from a great breeder. Murphy is the first AKC dog we ever had. I had lost my golden mix a couple years ago and could not get another because I loved her so much I didn't want a "Replacement" dog. My husband was working on building a deck for his best friend’s sister and he meant Max, a standard apricot poodle. Max won him over big. He jokingly sent me a picture saying that Max was our new dog. Well I didn't realize it was a joke. I showed everyone at work his picture and got so excited. He then said I was joking... I was "Not Happy" with Orrin. Max was the first litter from Murphy's sire and bitch. Murph is the second litter, 2 years apart and there will be no more half brothers or sisters, the breeder never breeds more then two from one bitch. The sire is a champion and he will breed two more times but never anyone related to the current family. We got Murph at 11 weeks old Oct 2, 2010. Hard to believe but he was the runt of the litter. I liked him because he talked and our hair was the same colour. He was also the only one of 6 little puppies that kept coming back to me as I set on the floor. His tail was not suitable nor was his coat dark enough for colour for showing but we are not a show dog family. Murphy is named for my all time favorite ball play Captain Dwayne Murphy from the late 1970's through the early 1980's center fielder that was a six time gold glove winner and had a lifetime batting average of 247 but a post season batting average of 384. I can think of no better name for a new family member then my all time favorite player.

Bio:
He hails from Northern CA. in Yuba City. His parents are unrelated :). He is as happy and goofy as any standard poodle but talks more then a real toddler.
