Mom and Dad took me to see Santa today at PetSmart. We wanted to be first in line so we arrived a little early. Then we were told he was running a little late because he ripped his suit around his belly. I think he ate too much on Thanksgiving.
When Santa came walking down the aisle I growled at him. BOL! Then he sat in his chair and offered me some cookies which I ate. I was fine after that.
Mom is not too happy with the photo we got from them but she likes the frame. BOL She also brought our camera and took her own pictures. She isn't too happy with most of those either but she did put one on my page which she took!
We hung around outside the mall for awhile and I had to deal with the paparazzi again. People are always touching me and taking my picture so I have to carry my business cards wherever I go!
Dad says I'm a rock star. Well, I am very tired rock star right now!

After months of hearing about percolation ponds around us that allow dogs to swim in them on weekends, we went on an adventure yesterday to check one out.
We were the only ones on the trail and I had fun smelling stuff. I saw lots of ducks in the water but I was really trying to listen for some "woofs". Finally, I heard them! We went towards the woofing and saw three Golden Retrievers fetching and swimming in the water. One was not nice to me so his Mom scolded him and said he was very protective of her.
Well, we decided it was best that we didn't hang around with them and kept walking. I went to investigate the water and got my paws wet but didn't have any interest in swimming. I guess my parents should have known since I've had no interest in my pool at home. BOL!
Since we weren't far from the self-serve pet wash, my parents decided I was due for a bath anyway so I ended up getting wet after all!
It's still warm and sunny here in Caifornia but should be cooling down by the end of October. I can't wait to bark at the trick-or-treaters!

The photo contest winners were announced on the website this past Thursday. Here's the link to the page we're on, but you can check out the other five category winners:
Purina Picture Paw-fect Winners Announced
My parents wanted to get me something special so they picked out a bone-shaped pool! It arrived earlier this week and has been sitting in the yard empty. I think it's going to get filled with some water today so I can check it out! I know it's not like a big pool for humans, but I consider myself lucky that I have one and my parents don't!
I'm adding a picture of it to my page for now with no water, but hopefully that will change soon!

No, not a new puppy brother or sister!
It all started back in May when Dad saw an announcement about a Purina photo contest and encouraged Mom to enter. There were six categories and we entered each of them. Six Grand Prize winners were to be awarded, along with six First Place prize winners.
Last Thursday, we got a special FEDEX delivery containing a letter and documents indicating we were one of six potential Grand Prize winners pending the return of a notarized Affidavit of Eligibility and Release form as well as a Copyright Assignment form!!
Mom took care of this right away because it was due back to them today. They included a prepaid overnight return envelope. Well, she got the call today saying all paperwork was in order and to make arrangements to have the check delivered because she has to sign for it! It's coming this week!
The check is for $5,000 made payable to Mom/us!
The picture that won is the 10th picture on my page with my brother Riley. It was entered in the Pair Entries category and the Best Sense of Humor sub-category! Winners were selected by a hired independent judge---my new best friend!
Can you believe it????
I didn't want to tell you before all the forms were received and they made it official!
Mom is already planning on how to spend the money on us, but is still trying to figure out what to buy me. She won't spend all of it right away though.
Here is the link to the Purina contest page but the announcement of the winners won't show up until around July 12! I'll be sure to let you know when it's there!

A few months ago, I met my human grandma for the first time. She spent the weekend at our house and I was nervous. So nervous I would growl and bark, which didn't make my parents or the cats very happy. I think one of the reasons was that grandma walks kinda slow so I thought she was some kind of prowler or something that wanted to steal my toys.
Anyway, I guess I didn't scare her away for good because she came back again a few weeks ago to visit for a few days and this time I was just fine! No more growling and barking! Everybody was happy.
Do you remember my kiddie friends, Breana and Jacob, my neighbors who played with me alot when I was a puppy? Anyway, Breana really wants a cell phone because all of her friends have one, so her parents told her she needed to earn some money to buy one.
Yesterday we received a flyer on our door with the header "Breana's All Purpose Service". It said she would do yard work, dog walking and babysitting after she gets CPR training.
Well, my parents feel I am too big for her to walk, but wanted to help her out by paying her to do some clean-up work in the backyard. So, she was thrilled when we called her this morning to come over this afternoon. It was almost 100 degrees out today but we get shade in our backyard in the afternoons.
Breana worked for about an hour and did a great job! And guess how much money she asked for? Two dollars! Well, we weren't going to give her two dollars, especially in this heat. Plus, I got all kinds of attention from her too, so we gave her ten dollars. She looked like she couldn't accept that amount of money but we told her we'd have her come back to help clean cat litter boxes, so she said she would do that! We'll still pay her again when she does, but we made a young girl very happy today.
Hope you're all staying cool!

I have a new friend and her name is Nahla but her nickname is Bee. Bee is a five-year old female Boxer that was rescued. She had a mommy for about six months before her mommy passed away unexpectedly. Her mommy wasn't discovered in the home for several days but Bee stayed right by her side until then.
Bee was held at the pound for a couple of weeks but her rescuer convinced them to release her back to her foster home. After the required time passed, she found her new mommy, my Auntie Liz, who works with my Mom. Auntie Liz also knew Bee's former mommy.
Auntie Liz's two previous dogs went to heaven recently, just several months apart, so the timing was right. They've only been together for about three weeks but they've already bonded!
This morning, we arranged for an early morning playdate at the dog park. Since it was all new for Bee, she spent some time walking outside the park while I anxiously waited for her to come inside.
We hit it off great, though she got a little excited when I would run around. I think she was trying to tell me to slow down! But after awhile we both calmed down and were fine. Then a few other dogs came that I've met before and their owners were really caring and supportive helping Bee with her socialization skills.
We were there for over an hour and Bee was worn out but we all had a good time. She is cute and looked so pretty with her lime-green accessories!
I'm working on getting her to join Dogster, along with my pal Rogan!
I need a nap and then I'm going out to the pet wash!

Happy Mother's Day to all your moms! We should really celebrate our moms every day for all that they do for us. Be especially good for your moms today!
As some of you have already seen, I had a playdate with my new pal Rogan yesterday. There were actually a bunch of other dogs there, including a Pug meet-up playgroup and we all got along really well.
My paws got really muddy because some peeples put a water bowl on top of the seat on the picnic bench which sits on top of sand. So, when some of us were drinking we dripped water all over the sand. Next time we will suggest that the water bowl be put on the grass with the other bowls, but I did have fun!
Guess what pals, I have my own calling-card now! Mom ordered them from Zazzle. They're blue with pawprints on them and has my picture on it, along with a little info about me and the link to my Dogster page! Many times we would tell friends at the dog park about my page and now it will be easier to hand them a card.
I think my buddy Rogan will be joining Dogster and I'll be the first one to tell you when he does.
Enjoy your day!

It's been a super warm weekend over here! Yesterday Mom took me to the dog park and then we went to the Pet Wash at Pet Food Express. There was a German Shepherd Rescue fundraiser going on so we made a donation based on buying more tokens for the pet wash. After we got home Mom gave me another haircut.
I was all nice and clean until today! Mom and Dad took me back to the dog park and there was a dog there but I was a bit too playful for her so I chased tennis balls instead. Then she left and we were by ourselves.
Well, it's a good thing we stayed because I made a new best friend! His name is Rogan (Irish for red-haired) and he's a Labradoodle. He's just a few months younger than me and it was like we'd known each other for a long time. Mom was soooo glad she had the camera because we were so cute together. When you see what he looks like he'll remind you of my pal Jumbo from puppy class!
We exchanged email addresses with Rogan so we can plan future playdates!

I can't believe I'm a diary pick again! Thanks much to my pals for stopping by to congratulate me.
Every Spring, birds build a nest on the retractable metal arms on our patio awning, so it can't be used until the babies are born and fly away. Last Spring when this happened I was still a puppy so I didn't notice anything. This year, I'm noticing!
I've named the birds Mr. and Mrs. Robinson. Mrs. Robinson has been so busy building her nest while Mr. Robinson protects it. The wind blew it away one day but it was rebuilt the very next day. Mr. Robinson and I have had some staring contests. They even tried to dive-bomb me the other morning!
The nest is too high for me to get to, but I'm always looking at it because I can smell it. It's only a couple of feet away from the house, so the cats are mesmerized by all the activity too.
That's about it for today. Dad got home early and took me to the dog park and now it's time for an after-dinner walk!

Today I'm a diary pick!
Thank you kitties Zack & Zoey for the bunny--I still have the one you sent me to chew on! Thank you Hershey & Winkie for the blue ribbon, and thank you to LWD Zaidie for the baseball and cupcake! I love the comments my pals have left me and the pawmails too!
Guess what, Dad is no longer on swing shift and is working the day shift now. He starts his day earlier than Mom but gets home in the early afternoon. I've adjusted to his new schedule really well and Mom still comes home at lunchtime. I stay inside the house when they're gone and guard the house and cats. I'm a good watchdog!
Mom has now cut most of my puppy hair out but needs to cut the rest off after it grows out a bit more. She calls it a teddy bear or puppy cut. In case you're wondering, I'm about 64lbs now and I'm due for my yearly physical! I bet my vet will be surprised when she sees me!
I've gotten go do my laps inside the house now like I do every night and then it'll be time for me to go to bed. My spot always starts right between Mom and Dad and ends up on their bathroom floor where it's cooler.
