Arrival Story:
Melba was an older puppy at a local humane society. She was living in an outside kennel because she was bigger than the average puppy. She leapt and jumped and was so happy even though she was in that kennel - she was imposssible to miss. With a big snout that didn't fit the rest of her head and huge paws on a puppy sized body, Melba was the least cute puppy on the premises. I thought no one would want this handful of crazy. No one but me. Melba and I went into the shelter to meet and she would not stop jumping on me and licking my face - it was like she had been waiting for me to find her. I filled out the paperwork that days and then waited for the shelter to approve me for the longest 24 hours ever. When they let me know that everything was a go - I hopped in the car and drove back to bring her home. Home is wherever we are together.
