Favorite Walk: Anyway where I can stop and pee on everything new!

Best Tricks: Sit, speak, down, go over there, outside, stay, beg, shake etc... basic obedience training.

Arrival Story: I found Jake while looking for a golden on petfinder.org at a local shelter... he had been there for 12 days and was brought in as a stray. He was totally flea infested, his hair was matted badly & he smelled really foul. Sadly, he was withdrawn and would not even look at me when I adopted him. The only thing they could tell me was that a blind lady (who volunteers )that came in to sit with the dogs said he had some obedience training and knew commands. I took him to the local Petsmart and had him groomed and de-flea-ed. He slept on our hardwood floor outside out bedroom for almost 2 days straight. At first he had a little problem with submissive peeing when he was excited or scared. He has since kicked that bad habit and has become our perfect Jake-the-wonderdog. He is a great watchdog, people dog & pet. His fear of water I think stems from being forced into it through bathing. His only bad trait seems to be fear aggression towards other dogs that are bigger than him or chase him, he loves them but needs more socialization & training to understand the "doggy" language. I would encourage people to look at shelter pets because they really understand what it means when you give them a home with love.

Bio: Jake is the sweetest most loving, smart, & loyal dog I have ever owned. The vet thinks he might be mixed with another dog breed other than Golden... but his heart is all Golden to me : )
