Penny the Perfect Pet

Week Nineteen

My friend the rabbit is always in my yard waiting for me in the afternoons. As soon as I get outside, I run towards it but it gets through the fence and I have to stop. I wonder why it is so shy? Mommy still does not like it but secretly I like to play with it! Granddaddy is taking me for longer walks each day now that it is warmer. We stop and talk to all the neighbors and their dogs. They all tell me how beautiful I am. Even the man that put up wallpaper in their house said I was elegant! Mommy has been grooming me each week. My coat is very soft and shiny. Now that I don't need to wear my sweater, my coat looks very nice!

Week Eighteen

Why do I have to get my toenails cut? Mommy took me to the vet's this week and they cut my nails down. It did not hurt or bleed but I didn't like it. It scares me to go into that place. I start to shake and hide under the chairs in the waiting area. They offer me cookies but I don't want them. I think it is a trick to catch me! I'm too smart for that! When I get home, I get even more cookies and lots more hugs and kisses from Mommy and Daddy. Maybe it is worth it!!

Week Seventeen

Mommy and Daddy are giving me more and more 'cookies'! I am not sure why but I love it. We go for rides on weekends and play in the yard. I saw my first rabbit this week! I'm trying to play with it but it runs away everytime I get near it. Mommy says for me to get it out of our yard. It is eating all of her flowers! She may not know it but I have been digging up some of these round balls out of the mulch and moving them for her! I don't like them where they popped up out of the ground!
