Cassey's happenings

Happy New Year 2007!

New Year is one of the most important holidays to us Japanese. 2007 is the year of the pig. 2006 was year of the dog. I am playing with mommy's hagoita. Hagoita is a decorative wooden paddle used in the game of battledore. Today mom and dad are making pheasant for dinner! Yum! Wonder if we'll get some? Later mom and dad will have some wagashi. Wagashi is a special Japanese sweet made with bean paste. We can't have it because this particular one has chocolate in it. Azuki and I enjoyed Christmas day. We had ham and of course special treats! :)

The ordeal

Well, Azuki is stuck in a cage for a whole month! Yippeeee! All the more playtime for me and mom & Dad without him interupting. Mommy can leave my food down all the time and I can run around like a mad dog! :D

I hear it's Azuki's 9th birthday today. Hopefully we get cake! And Azuki should get a new toy that I will claim for my own later! Mwahhhaaaahhaa!

Did someone say Turkey?

Rumour has it that a lovely dinner with Turkey is coming our way. Mom is American and she still likes to celebrate this holiday. She and Daddy's cousin Marisa will spend all day cooking up wonderful things in our kitchen next Friday. Mom says it's a day late for the holiday, but who cares as long as there is TURKEY!
I've been coming along in leaps and bounds. Daddy and I get along a lot better. I even play some games with him but I get frightened still sometimes. I think I'm really settling in here and I don't think mom and dad are going to send me away. I'm building up my confidence every day and I still like to boss Azuki around.
After my spay I've put on a couple of pounds but I still like to run a lot and do Shiba 500s nearly every day! I love jumping on and off the bed and up and down the stairs! Woohoo!
