Arrival Story:
Buddy was a puppy at a private home in Phoenix, AZ. I had heard that Beagles were excellent family dogs so I went to see the puppies in the heat of the summer. When I got there,Buddy was sitting in a bowl of water to cool off! So cute! The family who owned the mother and father of Buddy kept the dogs outside in the hot summer here so I knew I had to rescue one of the puppies and quickly. As soon as we could, my daughter and I went back to pick a puppy. I decided to let the puppy pick me so I sat on the patio and waited. There were only 2 puppies left and sure enough, Buddy came to me and waited for me to pick him up while the other puppy had gone to sleep with his face turned away from us. I knew Buddy was ours and we took him home. He scratched a lot and we found out he had canine lice - it took about 6 months to clear that up and then we were all more comfortable. I think he got the lice because the previous owners kept their dogs outside even in the summer heat! Since then, Buddy has lived with us in the house with air conditioning and sleeping in our bed at night. He has the most comical faces and actions sometimes and always keeps me laughing! He is going on 11 years old and is still healthy.

Buddy is pedigreed Beagle and could have been a show dog, but he is our wonderful pet and we love him very much!
