North gives "kisses" and knows "Sit" very well.
In the summer of 2010 my husband decided that we needed a dog. There were times i was home alone and at the time I was pregnant with our third child. So he went onto Craigslist and we found this free dog. All we had to do was go get him. So we took the drive with the children to go see this dog. He allowed our three and a half year old to physically lay on him and all he did was look at her. That helped us make the decision to keep him. He rode on daddy's lap all the way home (I drove) and immediatly upon coming into the house he took up residence on the far end of the sofa!
North's eyes are two different shades of brown. His left eye is a deep chocolate-brown while his right eye is a lighter golden-brown. We say he has one Chow Chow eye and one German Shepherd eye. His tail has that upward curve like a Chow Chow but he has all the markings of a German Shepherd. He has scar tissue in his left eye due to a cat scratch that happened before we got him.
North has been known to chew things that aren't food. He has, to date, chewed up three barbie dolls, a pair of shoes, a stray extension cord (unplugged thankfully) a book, and a shingle off our house. Also, from time to time, he is known to chew (lightly, we think he's playing) on our cat, leaving him covered in dog drool!

4/9/11. 2:00 am. Mom let me out to go potty. She has to put me on a tether because I won't stop chasing bunnies. But anyway, Mom heard me scratching at the side of my dog house which sits up against the Big house. She came outside to see what was the matter with me. She moved my dog house aside to see what I was trying to get and that's when I got it. I ate a toad! I think there was a little dirt in there too because not only was I all foamy at the mouth but my chewing sounded a little gritty too. Mom got me some water and a wash cloth. She wiped off my muzzle and ordered me to drink some water. Then, she laughed a little and went inside to tell dad.
I had to stay outside a little longer because mom wouldn't let me come in until I drank some water. She kept telling me how gross it was, but I couldn't understand why. It was just a toad.
