Likes:
Swimming in our pond out front, trying to race Dutch to the toy or stick that was thrown to be fetched.

Pet-Peeves:
When other people try and steal his food (slightly food possessive) or when they try and take his toys when he doesn't want to play (strange cause when they're playing all he wants to do with his toys is share!)

Favorite Toy:
His 'Germaffe' which is a plush giraffe that was initially mine but he treated it like his baby and loved it too much for me to keep for myself!

Favorite Food:
He loves cat food! He's such a weirdo, you'd think that he thought that he was a cat himself! He lays at the very top of the couch like a cat.

Favorite Walk:
Out in our trails of our 150 acres! He loves the forresty surroundings!

Best Tricks:
Coming as soon as called, high fives, and he is learning to play dead. He also knows his basic commands like sit, down, and shake.

Arrival Story:
Scout was at the Ontario SPCA and my mother and I were just going to visit the dogs for a little bit. We looked into all of the cages, giving eat dog a sweet stroke. My mom had gotten all giddy and excited and called me over to this one cage and I had seen a furball sitting at the front of the cage with a big, pink, belt-of-a-tongue whipping out along my moms fingers and hands. Then I saw this big brown eyed lover-boy staring at me and my mother contentedly. I had been telling my parents I wanted a dog so badly but never really expected to actually get one. My mother had asked what breed he was, they initially thought he was a Collie and Shepard mix because of his markings. My mother and father both wanted a Collie because of their intelligence. We brought him out of the cage so we could take pictures of him to just show my dad. When he came out and was in my arms, he was all kisses! I was instantly in love with him. We took those few blurred photos since he moved around too quickly to get a clear one! We took the pictures back to my dad and went downstairs to talk to my mom about it for a while. When he came up he said he still wasn't sure. Then on Christmas Eve we had recieved a call which I was told to answer. It was from the OSPCA. The woman on the other end said, 'We have your Collie ready to be picked up! He's all yours now!' At that moment I had bursted into tears thanking my parents. We rushed on up to the OSPCA and there was my new dog. I got to choose his name. I named him Scout because he was a real trooper about being in the shelter. We took him home and we had put him in his doggy seat belt. We brought him home to meet our other dog, Dutch. At first Dutchy didn't like him too much, but days later, Scout's playful and kind spirit was warmly welcomed by Dutch and they were best friends! Dutch still grumps and grumbles at Scout, but we all know that they are the best of friends!

Bio:
Scout was rescued from a home where he was starved from all food. Completely neglected and didn't know much about people and why they wanted to touch him. That was before the shelter took him under their wing. He came from a very difficult life, but now is in a house that surrounds him with people who love him unconditionally!

There was an intruder this morning before my mommy was awake so I had to make sure I kept her safe! I barked and barked and put on my guarding face! I barked that oil truck to go back to wherever it came from! It's sure not allowed to sneak up on me and my momma!

Dutch helped to! He protected the other human by barking at the truck, but I guarded momma the best! I made sure I sat on her to make sure she didn't get up and get seen by the intruders! They could have been bad guys!

Momma didn't seem too happy after that bad old truck left though. I wonder why?? I could have saved her life!

I don't think it was because she was up all night playing with me, NOPE! Couldn't be that! Maybe was it that the bad old truck came by at six in the morning? NO WAY JOSE! Perhaps it was that me and Dutchy barked two hours after the truck was gone? PSHH, no way! OHH! I know, it was cause that truck driver DID try and sneak up on us while we were sleeping, that's gotta be it, right?

Well that's okay, momma's in a very good mood now! She's gonna be making pancakes and eggs and bacon and sausage! I bet I can beg a few things off that plate and into my bowl! ;)

BARK! Breakfast's going to be made! I'm off!

Woof,
Scout!

My First Entry - A quiet day.

Woof! What a nice calm and quiet day it is today! Exam week means my humans (the young ones) are home almost ALL DAY LONG! It's totally pawesome!

Sleeping in until 9:00 with my human mommy, then getting a good breakfast of cooked chiken, some beans (mommy says they're green, but they look grey to me, I think she may be a little koo-koo! LOL)

Then I got to go potty and have a nice long run with my brother Dutch as we went for our 'walk'. Heheh, mommy gets a little more than she bargains for when she calls it a 'walk'! I call the blame on Dutch, he's the sled dog! He's supposed to pull! So i'll just toss the blame on him. ;)

After my long jog (poor mommy is sick with the flu, so her trying to run with us WAS kind of funny!) we went back to the house and got a big drink of water! Boy, do I ever love running on our 150 acres! It's SO nice! We sometimes see coyotes, and protect mommy from them by barking viciously but never leaving her side. To tell you the truth, I'm a little scared of them! But don't tell mommy! She thinks I'm so brave, and that is so cool that she trusts me with her life around them!

When we came home I ... Well ... I just don't remember! I must have fallen asleep! Well ... I guess I did! Since I was chasing something and when I woke up mommy was laughing! I must have been kicking my legs in my sleep again! How embarrassing!

Now that it's 11:30 I have to say goodbye to one of my humans because he has an exam (whatever that is!)

Well I better go, mommy is getting the treats out and I know what THAT means! Sit, stay, shake, down, play dead and TREATS! Hmm, I wonder if she's gonna teach me any new tricks, since she got a dog tricks book for Christmas! So I'm off like two shakes of a dogs tail!

Woof!
Scout
