Arrival Story:
The day before Mother's Day I was looking at dog rescue sights with my sister. When I got home that evening I told my husband I wanted to go to the local Humane Society for Mother's Day. It was on Mother's Day that we saw and feel in love with Fern (given to her by the staff after "Where the Red Fern Grows"). We brouht her home the follolwing day. She has been a great family dog and loves nothing better than to snuggle up next to you and be petted. She was already 8 when we got her, so no house breaking was really needed. We were told she was an American Foxhound from the society, but my vet feels she is a Treeing Walker Coon Hound. The differences are so slim that we are still not sure. If anyone knows, please let us know =)
