Arrival Story: A few days before Valentines Day my Fiance brought Muffin home to me as a gift! I had wanted a female, red, Mini-Doxie with short hair and he was on a waiting list for her for 2 years!! He picked her up from the pet store on his way home from work one night and brought her home for me as a total surprise!! I was soooo happy!! She is my baby and she has been by my side ever since!! She even sleeps with me!!!
I JUST WANTED TO SAY HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY PRECIOUS LITTLE MUFFIN!!! She is 4 years old today and she is soooo special to me!! she is my little baby!! I don't know what I would do without her! MOMMY LOVES YOU MUFFY!!! And so does "Tommy Dog" and daddy Mike, and Jeffy!!! :)
Hi all!!! I know it's been a while since I've made a diary entry....I'm really sorry about that and so is my mom! We've just been so very busy since I had my bladder surgery. so.....let us catch up!!!
Mommy got the results back from my doctor about my bladder stones and they were made of Calcium carbinate,(lol or something like that!! woof, woof!!) but I am taking a prescription food now called Purina NF for kidney function. I thought that it was going to be really expensive....but it only cost $1.00 more than the food that she was already eating. So we did ok...and mom and dad said that they really didn't care how much my food cost as long as I never have to have bladder stones and surgery again they will pay for it! :) The only thing that did happen with my new food, (and a friend here on dogster told mom this would happen...) I started to gain weight on my new food...but because of our friend telling us this , mom was watching for it and she adjusted my food intake and the vet said that I am ok.
But I did have some problems last week....lol....2 weeks ago today...I had to go get caught up on my shots. I got a Rabies, and a distemper shot and some blood test and the doctor told mom to start me on my heartworm meds that Sunday, so she did all of that...and the sunday that she started my meds I got diarreah!! lol I had it all week last week and last Wednesday night there was a little blood in it, so mom called the doctor and he had her put me on a diet of boiled ground beef and rice and I had to take Kaopectate for one day...well by Sunday I was better, so mom worried for nothing!! she worries about me a lot.....BUT I'M HAPPY THAT SHE DOES BECAUSE I KNOW THAT SHE LOVES ME!!
ok I am going to go for now!! Mom is going to add some new pix of me in the next few days so look for them!! she is also gong to update my brother Tommy's page and add my other 2 much older brother's Bear and chipper!! They are father and son and they were with mom and dad for YEARS before I came to live with them.....but they are my buddies and we love to play and cuddle together!!
thanks to Misty,Nina and the gang and coco Rose and Puffy!!!
I so appreciate all of your comments!
I love having all of you as friends and I am looking forward to talking to you in the future!!
Mommy has to get a urine sample from me on tuesday and take it to the vet to see if my infection is gone!
We only think that it was an infection.....Mommy watched me pee on Monday morning, and it started out as a dark reddish-brown color and went to yellow. Mommy saw that and got scared! the last time there was blood in my urine, it happened at the end , and the last drop or 2 was red or pink. she took the puppy pad with us to the Vet and he extracted some of the pee from the pad and said that it was blood. but I couldn't pee while I was at the vet so they couldn't do a complete urine test. but I had a fever, and I wasn't eating, and then vet figured that it is a bladder infection.
So far Muffin is doing great! she hasn't had ANY blood in her urine since Monday!
but she scared the hell out of me on Monday morning when I saw her rust colored urine! I trust her doctor, and they have been right so far with her so I am trusting him when he said that it is probably a bladder infection! he said that it could also just be left over blood or a blood clot that finally broke up and worked it's way out from her bladder surgery. she is on her prescription food and she is doing everything that the doc said to do......
so hopefully she will be ok from here on out!!
I really hope that nothing else happens....lol....I think that I aged 10 years with the bladder stone incident,,,and then on Monday when I saw blood in her pee again.... aged another 5 yrs!1 lol....I don't need anything else to happen!! I will end up being only 43, but looking 95!!!! LOL
Thanks everyone for your comments!!
Muffin loves all of her pals!!!
