Arrival Story:
My ex-husband, Tom and I had just put down our beloved Persian cat, Woody (aka "Bubba") ... we were very sad and reflecting on our loss when I blurted out, "why don't we get a puppy?" Tom looked at me as if I was from some other solar system, but as we thought about it, we liked the idea ... so, someday we would get a puppy. That someday came the next day when I had a particularly bad day at work. I called my husband and said "meet me at work at 5 -- we're going to get our puppy!" We arrived at the shelter to find many pups, but this little cutie simply stuck out. She had these little spikes on the top of her head, and this little "bottle brush" nose, and the most beautiful brown puppy eyes I had ever seen! We set her down on the hard, concrete floor and she did a "Bambi" as I call it--when Bambi slipped on the ice and all four legs went spread eagle--we knew she was ours! On the drive home, I turned to Tom and said "what the hell do we do with a puppy?" Our adventure had begun ...

Bio:
As an SPCA Shelter Manager, I see many dogs come through our shelter thoroughly scared out of their wits, not understanding where they are, what is happening, and why ... Lilibelle has been my ROCK, literally. She has taught me so much about love, life, caring, giving, devotion ... and everyday I get to hug her and spend my life with her is a blessing. She is my "soul-mate" and best friend, and I am the luckiest woman in the world to have her share her love with me. Although we are no longer together, we will always be a family. Lilibelle will always be my girl ... Tom has Lucky and J.J., and a new addition, Ricky, a 12-yr. old Shiba Inu.
