Arrival Story:
Ever since I was little, me and my mom would go to the local animal shelter to get pets. She would pick based on looks, and would turn down dogs that I liked, so I always wanted to have the chance to choose one myself. After me and my boyfriend had been living together for a year, we decided to go to the Humane Society to choose a dog. I checked on the website for the personality we were looking for, and I picked out two female dogs that I though would fit us. I saw Toby but, because of his young age, (5 1/2 months) his breeds, and the fact that there was no information written on him, I passed him by. When we got there, the first dog I had chosen was already out and interacting with someone who looked happy with her, and the second didn't seem interested in us at all. We still were going to bring her out to interact with her, but first I wanted to take one last look around to see if there were any new dogs. That's when we saw Toby in person. I remembered passing him by on the website, but since he was sitting so patiently at the cage door, my boyfriend wanted to check him out. In the run, he ended up being one of the most well behaved 5 month old puppy I had ever met, despite his high energy. That is when we decided that we wanted to bring him home. He is still so incredibly willing to please that he is one of the most obedient dogs I know. The only exception to that is that he growls when a new person comes over, but that doesn't last long before he decides that he just wants to play!
