Gotcha Date: December 18th 2010 Birthday: May 12th 2010 Likes: Play Time Favorite Toy: Anything that squeaks, but he loves the pink fish which makes a squishy noise Favorite Food: Natural Balance and Lucky Dog Cuisine Best Tricks: None yet except being cute Arrival Story: On December 7, 2010, I saw Jiffy's cute little face pop up on my Facebook feed. Hearts United for Animals (HUA) posted a notice which said, "Check out this very handsome boy up for adoption at HUA - Jiffy! Jiffy is still a puppy and is looking for a forever home! He is a polite boy who just loves to play. Jiffy would love a home where he can get his puppy energy out and then curl up in the arms of his forever family member(s)! Visit him at: http://hua.org/component/animals/? id=704" It listed him as: "Miniature Schnauzer | Born: May 12, 2010 | Weight: 10 lbs. | Gender: Male. Jiffy, who is still really just a baby, was brought to HUA by his owners, who were victims of this horrible economy and could no longer take good care of their puppy. It is a heartbreaking situation that we are seeing far too often, and both the people and the dog suffer greatly. We told Jiffy's family that we thought we could find him a wonderful home, and that we thought we could do it quickly. He is delightful. Jiffy is incredibly friendly, full of energy, and loves to explore. He is a curious, polite little guy who thinks everything is great. He plays like crazy with every new toy. He loves romping with his room-mate and celebrates big when his humans come to play. Jiffy has never known cruelty or hunger. He has been loved. He knows that fate will bring him to the family that will cherish him forever, and raise him to be one fine gentleman. Oh. And he is SUPER CUTE."
He's not full Schnauzer, but he is adorable! I fell in love with him the moment I saw his face, but was thinking he'd make a wonderful playmate for a friend's dog. Since she passed on him, I immediately completed the adoption form on-line then waited for the process to complete. The adoption was approved on December 13th. We picked up Jiffy on December 18 and arrived home with him on the 19th. He will spend his very first ever Christmas in his new furever home. More about his arrival and first day home will be posted in his first diary entry. Bio: Jiffy is a dynamic little fellow. He's full of energy, lovable and a busy little guy. He claimed the bed as his night time sleeping place on his first night here!
Jiffy had two buddies while at HUA. This is what his buddies posted to Jiffy as copied from HUA's website:
His Buddy, Kimberly Isada, from Spotsylvania, Virginia, sent him this message: "I would love to cuddle you, Jiffy! You are a very sweet dog and I hope you find your family soon." Jiffy sends Kimberly and her family many happy, grateful hugs and kisses.
His Buddy, Robin Peters, from Omaha, Nebraska, sent him this message: "I couldn't resist being your buddy after seeing your face. I hope you find your way to your forever family very soon. May your new home and heart be filled with love and an abundance of new toys for you to play with. Until then you are with the most caring people there are and they will do their very best to make sure you are safe, happy and warm. I hope Santa will be bringing you a new family this holiday season!" Jiffy sends Robin many happy, grateful hugs and kisses.
I cannot believe my luck today....with mom being gone to help my skin bro pick up a huge fish aquarium and pressure washer from one of his friends in Houma she missed seeing me in the spotlight here until a few minutes ago...it's 9:30 p.m. like night time and my spotlight goes out at Midnight. I'm not a happy camper at all. First I'm never happy when she leaves home anyway, but to miss my special day just takes the cake. Which reminds me where's my cake or special treat for this!!?? Spike told me there'd be days like this when he wanted to bite her fur not letting him on the Dogster pages. Things got to change around here!! There's too much going on and all four of us are gonna start a riot with me leading the pack. We can't go on one side of our yard cuz them construction peeoples got our gate all busted up and they keep coming and going whenever they feel like it. And they got the yard all dug up over there running cables under ground. They spread dirt all around the big shed out there and on the side covering up my grass. How dare they ruin my grass!! I like to keep that stuff marked up ya know!!! Then mom's been working in the flower beds and we can't go there anymore cuz them lava rocks hurts our feets. Shame on mom fur making that her own private space. :)
Time to run....mom where's the treats!! We gotta have a bully stick or two!!!
Mom just got back home a little while ago with Frosty Paws fur my big celebration!! Whoo-hoo...what else is in store fur me today? My mouths watering fur this special treat cuz I've never had one before.
and mom's been sick fur almost the whole year already! BOL! She caught that nasty flu bug virus that's going around and hasn't done much of anything for over a week except sleep. No play with Jiffy makes me a sad boy. She talks funny in a hoarsey voice which is weird. I think she realized I need my mom back cuz she went to the hooman dogtor today fur shots and pills. Oh boy, I hope it gets her back on her feet again.
I gotta say me and the others been taking real good care of her. Rosie is trying to get all the credit cuz she lays her head across mom's neck. I'm right there by her side every day. No Rosie girl is gonna take my mom away from me!! Hee-hee...can you say jealous Jiffy Pop! yep..that's what mom called me.
