Arrival Story: On December 7, 2010, I saw Jiffy's cute little face pop up on my Facebook feed. Hearts United for Animals (HUA) posted a notice which said, "Check out this very handsome boy up for adoption at HUA - Jiffy! Jiffy is still a puppy and is looking for a forever home! He is a polite boy who just loves to play. Jiffy would love a home where he can get his puppy energy out and then curl up in the arms of his forever family member(s)! Visit him at: http://hua.org/component/animals/? id=704" It listed him as: "Miniature Schnauzer | Born: May 12, 2010 | Weight: 10 lbs. | Gender: Male. Jiffy, who is still really just a baby, was brought to HUA by his owners, who were victims of this horrible economy and could no longer take good care of their puppy. It is a heartbreaking situation that we are seeing far too often, and both the people and the dog suffer greatly. We told Jiffy's family that we thought we could find him a wonderful home, and that we thought we could do it quickly. He is delightful. Jiffy is incredibly friendly, full of energy, and loves to explore. He is a curious, polite little guy who thinks everything is great. He plays like crazy with every new toy. He loves romping with his room-mate and celebrates big when his humans come to play. Jiffy has never known cruelty or hunger. He has been loved. He knows that fate will bring him to the family that will cherish him forever, and raise him to be one fine gentleman. Oh. And he is SUPER CUTE."
He's not full Schnauzer, but he is adorable! I fell in love with him the moment I saw his face, but was thinking he'd make a wonderful playmate for a friend's dog. Since she passed on him, I immediately completed the adoption form on-line then waited for the process to complete. The adoption was approved on December 13th. We picked up Jiffy on December 18 and arrived home with him on the 19th. He will spend his very first ever Christmas in his new furever home. More about his arrival and first day home will be posted in his first diary entry.
Bio: Jiffy is a dynamic little fellow. He's full of energy, lovable and a busy little guy. He claimed the bed as his night time sleeping place on his first night here!
Jiffy had two buddies while at HUA. This is what his buddies posted to Jiffy as copied from HUA's website:
His Buddy, Kimberly Isada, from Spotsylvania, Virginia, sent him this message: "I would love to cuddle you, Jiffy! You are a very sweet dog and I hope you find your family soon." Jiffy sends Kimberly and her family many happy, grateful hugs and kisses.
His Buddy, Robin Peters, from Omaha, Nebraska, sent him this message: "I couldn't resist being your buddy after seeing your face. I hope you find your way to your forever family very soon. May your new home and heart be filled with love and an abundance of new toys for you to play with. Until then you are with the most caring people there are and they will do their very best to make sure you are safe, happy and warm. I hope Santa will be bringing you a new family this holiday season!" Jiffy sends Robin many happy, grateful hugs and kisses.
Wowsa....who can believe I've been in my new furever home fur 3 years already. And, three years on the Dogster, but I don't bark much like I used too. I do bark a lot around here...at the pool monster, at cars that get too close to my house, at anything that moves, at mom fur treats and attentions, at these other out of control furballs around here. BOL!!!
Hey, I'm Jiffy a pure delightfully happy little guy who is mom's little "velcro" baby. BOL!! Thank you to Sheba, Spike and Miracle fur picking me out of all the doggies in the world!
Again today! What a pawesome surprise, but I just found out at 6:15 p.m. Central time cuz mama been busy around the house. Ha-ha Rosie, that's two days within a week fur me to be in the spotlight. I shouldn't laugh cuz Rosie's not doing so great in that cover dog contest and it doesn't appear she'll even come in close to the other doggies. Mama just told Rosie she wasn't entering us in anymore contests cuz not many of our furiends vote and it are stressful begging fur help. Oh well...time to go back outside and stalk the pool monster.
Whoo-hoo take that Rosie who thinks she's queen of the house!! I'm mama's sweet little boy who is in the spotlight today, ALL day long! Aaarrooo!! And, I've been a busy boy since I wrote that last entry. The men was working on the gate yesterday and I gave them an earful cuz they was making lotsa sparks fly from what mama called "welding." OMD...that was not nice to see...looked like little flashes of lighting.
Me and the pool monster had it out again. Darn thing keeps spurting waters at me. I'm gonna get that sucker good one day just watch out. I did make it lose one of its treading water wheelie thingys. BOL!! Mama snapped it back on so it could grip the bottom and sides of the pool. It better quit taunting me!
Mama says she's making us some home made doggie biscuits today. YAY!!
