Arrival Story:
Pepper is another adoptee from Northern Virginia Sheltie Rescue (NVSR). Adopted out and then returned due to his high energy, his foster mom was determined to find an active home. After a few emails and phone calls, we decided to have him visit over the long Labor Day 2010 weekend. He fit in great with our other pups and our youngest son, Andrew, begged to have him stay. After another week long visit in early October, our decision to adopt him became final and he officially became ours in November 2010.

Well, mom hasn't been on here to say much about us in fur-ever! My fur brother and sisters are all doing great. Kenny, my terrier fur brother has just moved to NC as my hooman sis has finally settled down and can keep him with her! That's awesome for Kenny and that leaves just the 3 of us furkids at Mom's

I haven't been up to much. I still love to play and chase things like crazy. I am Mom's official running buddy. Our longest run to date has been 14 miles! That was pawsome!! I really like those days when we are up before the sun comes up and we're able to cover miles and miles like that. I have my very own water bottle mom brings just for me :) I don't like the summer heat too much, so Mom curtails the long runs then to just a couple of miles :) We've even run 2 5Ks (3.1 mile) races together with lots of other people and their dogs! Those are fun and Mom says, raises money so that other furkids can find their eventual families.

Well, that's it for now. Gotta go bark at a butterfly!

I love my furever home!

Well, I've settled right in. Guess this is really it! By now, everywhere else I've been, the humans would have shuffled me off. Sure glad I finally found the right home for me and all of my many talents, BOL.

My human, Andrew, is awesome! I follow him everywhere. We're in an advanced obedience class together now. He says there will be a test of some sort at the end. For something called a Canine Good Citizen--well, I think I'm already that! Guess the testers will find out on the test day.

Besides that fun, the human adult is working hard with me to learn how to retrieve a ball. She sure is excited whenever I manage to not drop in on my way back to her. I don't mind cuz there's always lots of treats when we play together.

My pal, Hunny, is my favorite to play with. Macy, the original pup here, is pretty pawsome, too. The old man Kenny tolerates me but he's good at making sure I don't go overboard with my puppy antics.

Overall, I'm one happy puppy right now. I'll keep all my pawpals updated on my future adventures! Bark atcha later.

So glad Mom finally is making it official and giving me my own Dogster page!

I'm the latest addition to my family's four-legged gang. I come from Northern Virginia Sheltie rescue and my wonderful foster mom, found my family especially for me! Although Mom wasn't looking for another dog, she found me hard to resist! I may be an annoying teenager in some ways but I do have a lot of charm, if I do say so myself :) I usued it especially hard on her and my boy (her son) Andrew.

He was just about heart broken when Mom said I was to go back to my foster mom, after spending about a week with the family while my foster mom took a much-deserved vacation at the beginning of October. Mom saw some potential in me, and basically caved, BOL.

So here I am, happy with my new family. And they're pretty happy with me, too. Well, except maybe when I get into the trash can--I love to do that!! Although Mom says my days of doing that are numbered---something called t-r-a-i-n-i-n-g is supposed to change my ways :) I already have had some of that training--I graduated top paws from my basic obedience course, BOL!! I dunno, that trash can is waaay more tempting than doing sits and downs for treats :)

I'm looking forward to the new year. I'm over one year old now and ready to complete my advanced obedience class with Andrew by my side. After that, they're gonna teach me something called flyball. Oh yeah, and did I tell you about the sheep?? Mom has taken me to play with those a couple of times already! They are the best dog toys, EVER!!! I love to chase them around the ring. Mom says I'm a natural but why wouldn't I be? I mean they run, smell awesome, and we get to be outside, too?? What pup wouldn't like all of that?!?

Well, gotta run for now but I'll bark atcha after the beginning of the year. I hope all of my new pup pals have a wonderful, happy holiday season!

Kisses and tail wags,
