Arrival Story:
This is one of our dog's, her name is Mandy. She was on her last day in the shelter when we stoped that day.."just to look" she looked so sad, she sat there looking at me..not barking, or even waggin her tail, so i asked them if we could take a look at ther. the second they let her out of the pen she was a different dog! so full of life and loving. So we took her home on a trail basis, and she has been here ever since. We were hoping she would be a playmate for Aragon, (this was long before we got Vader)but she would rather she was REALLY abused and is really old,so im just glad we can give her a little comfort for however long she has left. she is scared of milk jugs and camera flashes, and the vaccum and thunder, and when we got her she would pace in a circle...always to the right, im guessing she was chained she spends her days with belly rubs and sleeping on the loveseat :) She is a choc. lab golden ret mix. I found this quote online that pretty much sums up the day I saw her "You paused outside to look into my cage. I tried to play it right, wanting to catch your eye with a shy glint in my own, a soft bark, that said, "Choose me," in a canine grammar I hoped you'd understand."~R.S. Jones, his account of his dog Scout's adoption from a shelter

Mandy was a old girl. She had been going down hill fast. The vet is pretty sure she has skin cancer, because of her horrible skin problems that medicine would not clear up. she was getting weak from laying around almost 24 hours a day and would fall more and more with each day....Well Last night i carried her outside to go potty and went back in the house to check on dinner, and i remember thinking boy its dark out here,i hope my husband sees her in the driveway when he comes home.Well she must have fallen in the driveway and he did not see her and he ran over her back broke. We knew then it was time....we were planning on having her put down but not like this...not this fast. Our 4 kids are taking it very hard, but our youngest is taking it the worst. He is 6 and Mandy was "his puppy" he is saying its "daddy's fault" and i suggested that all the kids draw pictures of Mandy when she was healthy and happy to hang on their wall, and the older 3 drew happy pictures but our youngest drew a picture of Mandy getting hit by the truck and a picture of the vet putting her down :*( he is having such a hard time...any suggestions on what we could do to help!? Mandy was such a sweet heart! we saved her from the pound...she was on her last day there, she was such a loving and sweet dog! She will be incredibly missed!
