Toys, Mom, Dad, his pack
Rain and sleet
All of them including Doolin's, which may become a problem
Just about anything and he loves his raw diet and to be fed with the pack.
Out in the back yard right now, but he will see the big world soon.
Devin came to us through Pup Squad Rescue (www.pupsquad.org) in Houston TX. The nice ladies go into municipal shelters and search the streets for pregnant dogs and litters and put them in foster homes to get them safe and healthy. They post them through Petfinder to find great homes. We contacted them about a puppy who was already being looked at by a family, then about another pup that was already adopted. We sent her the web addresses of the D Dogs Dogster pages and she really wanted to place a dog with us so she suggested a pup that she hadn't even posted on Petfinder yet due to not having a really good picture to post. Thank Dog for that! As soon as we saw his face we knew he was the one. His new dad was traveling from NH to TX to visit family for the Thanksgiving holiday so he could drive to Houston to pick him up. Fifteen minutes later and a stop at Petsmart to get an airline approved Sherpa bag and he was on his way. He spent his first week visiting the TX family before being flown home. He is now getting to know his pack up here in NH and fitting in very well.
Dev is brilliant, beautiful and sweet as all get out! We are looking forward to training him and seeing how he progresses with the rest of the pack. He is our first puppy as all the others were over 10 months at adoption. Every day is a new experience. He is socialized to a fault, fearless and funny. As Devin grows in this pack we have found that he has a special talent to calm fearful or aggressive dogs. He teaches them that life is fun and that we will protect them no matter what. He has had a major influence on Doolin and is now working on Deacon. I don't know what we would have done if we hadn't given up the search for Deacon last year and found Dev instead. It all worked out since we now have Devin the wonder dog and Deacon is here too!!!

Mine, it seems will not be in the agility ring. After a year of trying, I have made it very clear that I don't want to follow in the pawprints of my illustrious pack. I get very scared and don't understand when mom puts me at the start line and then asks me to jump over stuff. Stuff is for playing in the back yard, not for the big ring with the judge and hoomans looking on. Soooo, mom said that I'm a wonderful personality and I would make a nice therapy dog, but for now I'm just hanging out making her laugh. I helped my grammy a lot when she was in her last 6 months by visiting her and making her smile, so I'm a natural. My "hawk" makes people laugh, my laid back attitude puts people at ease.... I guess I'm a rock star after all!

I ran real competition agility last weekend in place of Duffy, who is still on the mend from his knee surgery. Mom and Dad knew I wasn't even close to being up to speed in the ring, but thought it would be good for me to at least try and see how it felt. My first run I did 3 jumps and then a tunnel and then ZOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMED out of the ring to the tent, where it was cool and there were cookies and all my friends. Dad was proud that I did anything at all because it was a bazzillion degrees out and I still ran. Mom tried me next and I did wicked good for her. The game was one that you could make up the opening for points and I only needed 16 at my level and we got 20!!!! Then the whistle blows and you have to do the closing. I did half of it and then sat down and raised each paw to show mom that my feet hurt and she should come pick me up. She did and she gave me loads of chicken for doing so well. The rest of the weekend didn't go so well and they decided to scratch me on Sunday since I was toast.
We went to agility class tonight and mom ran me in class cause dad was trying Deacon out. Mom and I did GREAT and I really made her happy. Dad and Deac did well too, so maybe sometime soon we can all go play in the big ring with the judge. That's a while away for Deacon though cause he has to drop his "tude". So I guess that leaves little old ME to carry on the family tradition of rock stars.
