Fortunately they kept her longer than the "expiration" date that was listed on her intake form.
A rescue group rescued her and she was fostered for a month. When I got her, she came to me as a mutt. It wasn't until 2 months later that I learned that there was a such a breed as Carolina Dog, and immediately saw that my pup was this ancient breed. Bio: I got Annie with the thought that she was a generic mutt. No real specific traits. Well, she is the uber-hunter. She has the 4 S's: Smell, sight, scent, and speed--no longer a generic dog.
