Arrival Story: My wife and I had only been married for a year and I had got a new job that required us to move away from our family in Ohio to Florida. My wife was all alone in a new city while I worked 12 hour shifts at work. I asked God for a puppy to keep Kelly company. A couple months after we moved down, my sister came down to visit. She had a friend who road with her so that he could make his way to Ft. Lauderdale, FL to visit his girlfriend in college. He was bringing her this tiny, teacup Chihuahua pup as a present. The runt of the litter, he was pulled at 6 weeks (which is a bit early) and cried the whole drive down from Ohio. As it happens, the girlfriend didn't want the pup or the boyfriend anymore. We offered the boyfriend the price he paid for the pup ($150!) and he agreed (happy to be rid of the runt).
My wife and I fell instantly in love. We knew that something that small needed a name bigger than himself: Edwardo Miguelle Elian Rinehart! Knowing that he had been pulled from his mother too early, I encouraged my wife to let him sleep in the bed with us so that he would have warm bodies and heartbeats to comfort him. I worked... and to this day, he sleeps under the covers with us and is "SOULTIED" to my wife. He can't stand to be away from her, and will do whatever she asks.

Bio: In the spirit of doing whatever my wife asks, he will stand up on his hind legs for approval. My wife has taught him to smile on command. When he gives kisses (or "lick-oos", as we call them), it is extremely intimate for him as he places his paws softly on each side of your face. We whines and grunts like a guiniepig for attention. And he is a die hard lap dog.... if there is a lap to be had, he is on it. Now that we live in Michigan, his Mexican blood runs cold... his second favorite place (next to being up his mom's butt) is on a heating pad that we leave plugged in and running all the time for him and his sister, Lola.

Ok... I'm small. But I'm quick. Chihuahuas are known to be able to get out from under foot very quickly. Not like my Grandma's new doggies... they used to say that they were Shitzus, or something like that. Now, I'm used to a nice quiet life with my family.... but when we visit Grandma, now I get attacked by these crazy chinese dogs! They look like ewoks! Honestly, they need to learn to leave a dog alone.
Well, justice is served. Turns out that one of them is a half breed! He got mixed into the Shitzu litter... he's Shitzu-Apsolopso (or something) mix. Haha! Now I got something to tease him about.
