Arrival Story: I adopted Sammie from a rescue organization. His circumstances, as it is for many pitbulls being rescued, were dismal.
I spotted Sammie's picture and story on the web. He had me at "hello" which for him was a simple snort and sniff when I walked through the door to adopt him.
OK so here's where I get in touch with my feminine side....Sammie has provided me with endless laughter, unconditional love and has taught me more about myself than I could have ever imagined. He's my best bud and a day does not pass without the thought of him popping into my head. I love him very very much!!!!!!!
Ok so here's the deal. My papa took us to the dog park last Sunday after church. It was an unusually warm day and he thought this would be a great way for us to stretch our legs before the really cold stuff came in.
I did my usual rountine which consisted of smelling everything I could get my nose in. Minnie on the other had started her usual run "like there is no tomorrow" with her booty so low to the ground that it looked like she was scooting it on the floor.
Well my kid sista thinks she's the "bomb diga dee" but back in the day I could probably run circles around her. Unfortuantely, my last surgery has really slowed me down and as a result my Papa stopped taking me to the park .
Minnie just loves antagonizing me. Well, I had just about enough and started the chase when she decided to tackle me and I felt something snap in my leg. It hurt so bad that I yelped. My papa screamed and came to my rescue.
I hobbled all the way home and we went to the vet.
I like my new vet! She is very sweet and gentle. She believes it might be a partial tear or a bad sprain. My father was grateful that it might not be a tear as the last surgery cost 5 grand. She suggested I stay off the leg for 2 weeks. I don't mind because I love hopping around on three legs!
Got to go because my kid sista gnawing on my leg again!
