IF A DOG WERE YOUR TEACHER .....

You would learn stuff like this:

When loved ones come home, always run to greet them.

Never pass up the opportunity to go for a joyride.

Allow the experience of fresh air and the wind in your face to be pure ecstasy.

When it's in your best interest - practice obedience.

Let others know when they've invaded your territory.

Take naps and stretch before rising. Run, romp, and play daily.

Thrive on attention and let people touch you.

Avoid biting, when a simple growl will do.

On warm days, stop to lie on your back on the grass.

On hot days, drink lots of water and lay under a shady tree.

When you're happy, dance around and wiggle your entire body.

No matter how often you're scolded, don't buy into the guilt thing and pout - run right back and make friends.

Delight in the simple joy of a long walk.

Eat with gusto and enthusiasm.

Stop when you have had enough.

Be loyal.

Never pretend to be something you're not.

If what you want lies buried, dig until you find it.

When someone is having a bad day, be silent, sit close by and nuzzle them gently.

Hi pups! It's been awhile since I've written a diary entry, so thought it was about time that I did.

I can't believe that we're almost in the month of May! Where is this year going? It's spring, almost summer. Summer means lots of hot weather around here, so I can't say I am looking forward to that. I do love taking sun baths, but when it's so hot out... I just want to sit by a fan. Summer also means lots of bugs! I love chasing bugs. Especially spiders! Mom has to watch to make sure that I don't play with dangerous spiders, such as the black widow. The family has lots of BBQs in the summer, which is great! I always hope for handouts.

Another thing I love about this time of the year is we go on lots and lots of walks! I love taking walks. Mom and dad always praise me for being such a good little walker. I hardly ever get tired for being such a small pup. Mom rarely has to pick me up and hold me on a walk! I'd much rather trot along on my own four paws.

It's almost time for me to get my nails trimmed. Mom thinks they are getting too long again. Oh, how I hate getting my nails trimmed! But, at least they don't take me to Petco anymore to get it done. I hated going there! I get them trimmed here at home, usually by dad because I hold still for him better.

Well, that's about it for now. I hope this finds each and every one of you doing well. Happy Spring! =)

WHY OWN A CHIHUAHUA?

Why own a Chihuahua? There's a danger you know,
You can't own just one, for the craving will grow.
There's no doubt they're addictive, wherein lies the danger,
While living with lots, you'll grow poorer and stranger.

One Chihuahuas no trouble and two are so funny,
The third one is easy; the fourth one's a honey.
The fifth one is delightful; the sixth one's a breeze,
You find you can live with a household with ease.

So how 'bout another? Would you really dare?
They're really quite easy but oh Lord the hair!
With Chihuahuas on the sofa and on the bed,
And crates in the kitchen, it's no bother you said.

They're really no trouble; their manners are great,
What's one more Chihuahua and just one more crate?
The sofa is hairy; the windows are crusty,
The floor is all footprints, the furniture all dusty.

The housekeeper suffers, but what do you care?
Who minds a few nose prints and a little more hair
So let's keep a puppy, you can always find room,
And a little more time for the dust cloth and broom.

There's hardly a limit to the Chihuahuas you add,
The thought of a cutback sure makes you sad.
Each one is so special, so useful, so funny,
The vet and the food bill grows larger, you owe money.

Your folks never visit; few friends come to stay,
Except other Chihuahua folk, who live the same way?
Your lawn has now died, and your shrubs are dead too,
But your weekends are busy; you're off with your crew.

There's dog food and vitamins, training and shots,
And entries and travel and motel which cost lots.
Is it worth it, you wonder? Are you caught in a trap?
Then that favorite Chihuahua comes and climbs in your lap.

His look says you're special and you know that you will,
Keep all of the critters in spite of the bill.
But winter's a hassle; the Chihuahuas hate it too,
They must have their walks though they're numb and you're blue.

Late evening is awful, you scream and you shout
At the Chihuahuas on the sofa that refuse to go out.
The Chihuahuas and the dog show, the travel, the thrills,
The work and the worry, the pressure, the bills.

The whole thing seems worth it, Chihuahuas are our life
They're charming and funny and offset the strife.
Your lifestyle has changed - things won't be the same.
Yes, those Chihuahuas are addictive and so is the game
---------------------------------------------------------- -----------

She's very, very tiny
but in her little frame
there's power and there's strength
that's a credit to her name.

She wasn't built for hunting
she wasn't meant for work
but if she has a duty...
she's not the one to shirk.

She has uncanny knowledge
of the do's and don't's of man
and she makes the greatest effort
to please you if she can.

And if there's dangers lurking
she's fearless and she's bold
and that's why the chihuahua
is worth her weight in gold.

Today, I learned something new from one of my favorite Dogster groups around - Pawesome Pages! You can change the color of your font, as well as the size and style!

Imagine how happy this made me! I couldn't wait to share it with my other pals in the "Plus Fun" forum. The other pups had a lot of fun (along with me) trying it out! It's always fun learning new things here on Dogster.

So, if you get bored and you want to try it out, check out my thread in "Plus Fun" or check out the "Pawesome Pages" group. I have learned so much from that group, and so will you!

Bark at ya later, pups! ♥

I was tagged to play this sporty game by Sadie!

You caught the football pass so here's the next play. Hurry and pass the ball to 5 of your teammates so they can make a touchdown, write down 5 funny things about yourself, also please leave me a bone and ask those who visit your page to leave you a bone so you will know they have been there.

That's the " huddle" message, so lets line up and have some fun.

1-I love to lay on my mom or dad's chest and just look into their eyes! Oh, and of course I'll try and lick their mouth, nose & ears!

2-I take only a few pieces of doggy food at a time, walk away and eat them, then come back to the doggy bowl and get a few more. I'm a grazer!

3 -I bark and bark when Sugar or Peanutty try and take one of my toys. I let them know they are ALL mine!!

4- If I find a true treasure (i.e. kleenex, wrappers, pencil, underwear), I will grab it and run underneath mom & dad's big bed!

5-I sometime poo while walking. I'm often not patient enough to stand in one place for too long. BOL!!

A pawesome poem written just for me!

Dear Dogster pals, I just have to share with you this wonderful poem that my sweet friend Gigi wrote especially for me. Gigi, you are furtastic! =)

My friend Bambi is pretty you see,
she's the cutest a chi can be.

So friendly and nice to all she meets
she might even share with you some treats.

Her toys I hear are another deal
she watches them all so no one will steal

If she finds you with her stuffy babies
she'll go crazy.... almost like she's got rabies!

She loves them all so much you know
she cuddles and carries them to and fro.

I always like to see her photographs
some are so sweet and some are for laughs.

Her siblings she loves - Sugar and Peanutty
they happen to be her very best buddies.

I'm so happy Bambi's one of my pals
'cause she really is a PAWSOME GAL.

Boxes, noise, and clutter!

Well, it's getting down to the wire. We'll be moving to our other house soon! There are boxes everywhere, the walls are blank, and there is plenty of clutter and disarray around our house right now. I've been staying kind of quiet, because I know that something is up. I hear our new house is nice, but I sure will miss this place! Especially our backyard with the nice grass. Oh, and barking at the neighbor dogs that live behind us. So many memories here! I was only a puppy when we first moved into this house - I was about 6 months old. Next weekend is when we start the first of our moving, we'll continue through the 15th of November. Then, it's time to start making new memories in our new house. Wish us luck! =)
