Arrival Story: If you are looking for a loving and faithful companion to share your life and not ask for a whole lot more than a warm bed in return, consider Rusty!
Rusty was a stray taken to a Virginia shelter after he was found bleeding in a field. Just as Rusty got to the shelter, there was an outbreak of kennel cough. He remained in quarantine there for 2 months to keep him from contracting it. When he started having stressful bowel problems, his number was up and he was scheduled to be euthanized on the day he was rescued by ACDRA.
Bio: Rusty's hind end is a bit weak and his left hind leg was crooked. We had had him x-rayed and found out that he had a very expensive surgery done on the leg. He has a metal plate supporting his knee ligaments. We believe that when he was found, he was still recovering from that surgery. He is now fully recovered and doing great.
Rusty is great on walks, loves to ride in the car and is completely reliable in the house. He likes to play with his tug toy or is happy lying by your feet chewing on a bone. He is completely house trained. We've found that Rusty is very good with other dogs and likes to play if the other dog is willing. Check out the video to see him inviting a 7-month old puppy to play!
