Arrival Story:
Well, I had been looking for a lab for quite sometime. I adopted a lab when I was 16, but she died when I was 19 from natural causes, and it really made me appreciate labs. I've finally come into a living situation where I can have a dog, so I had been checking out breeder websites trying to find a reputable breeder. I really wanted a fox red lab, I was put onto a waiting list and was told I've have to wait 6 months, which was no problem. Around this time I had started checking local online classifieds just to see what kind of dogs were out there, and I saw an ad for a few black lab puppies who needed to be placed in a good home. My instant reaction was to call and check out the dogs, and I drove 3 hours to go check them out. Once I got there one of the puppies immediately came to the fence and welcomed me, and during my visit followed me everywhere and just kinda "latched" onto me. She was the smallest of the litter, but I couldn't resist, so I paid my adoption fee and took her home, and loved her ever since. She is now a part of the NIM!!! family.. loved by both of us. Oh yeah, I withdrew my name from the waiting list that instant, haha.
