I was adopted begining of November last year by mommy and daddy-that was 6 months ago give or take I think. They don't know much of my history before I came to live with them but they do know that when I first arrived I was scared of cars, vacums, doors and being yelled at.
They wanted a puppy so at 2 years old I wasn't exactly what they thought they were locking for but when they walked into the shelter and saw me and their small kids flopped down ontop of me and I didn't react negatively their hearts were stolen.
I have an unusual hole in one of my ears- the vet's still not sure what that was from- he'd say i got in a fight and had a tooth pierce it but he's not entirely sure it's a pretty clean cut hole.
I love my kitty siblings- and they love me though I think they think i'm a bed sometimes. I'm stubborn and don't listen well to commands but I know not to make messes indoors and I don't jump up on people usually so Mommy and Daddy aren't too upset with me usually.
We also adopted a new puppy from the pound! She's sooo much fun to play with and we started getting along right from the get go. She's only 4 months old and has spent most of her life in the shelter- the guy who adopted her before mommy and daddy had her for about a month than brought her back because he didn't realize black lab puppies were so much work.
Now...for the bad news. Mommy's pretty upset right now- when Mommy and Daddy woke up I was limping bad on my right leg- won't even let it touch the floor if i can help it!. Mommy took me to the vet and that's where I really started to worry her...while performing the initial check the vet heard a heart was decided to perform some xrays to see what was going on with my shoulder- and since they would be able to see from the shoulder xrays- my heart too. Turns out they couldn't see anything wrong with the shoulder - its probably just sprained or strained so they gave mommy some pills to help with that....but the xrays did turn up with two other things- my elbow is showing signs of arthritius forming...and my heart is slightly larger than normal. The vet isn't too worried at this point but he said its definately something they're gonna wanna keep an eye on. Mommy and Daddy knew I'd probably end up with some problems given my breed- they just hoped that it'd start later rather than sooner I guess. Silly momma. She's pretty upset about the enlarged heart...someone needs to tell her to stop worrying too much.
