Arrival Story:
My husband and I were on a little trip over to Bend, Oregon in early September to attend The Little Woody Barrel Aged Brew Festival. Early Saturday morning, we walked the six blocks from our inn to downtown to grab espresso. On the walk back, we came upon the Bend Saturday Market, where a local rescue group called All For Dogs had an adoption booth set up. Our eyes were instantly drawn to this handsome reddish-brown terrier-like small dog named Dixon. We had bought a house a year before and had been thinking for quite some time of adopting a small dog, but it had to be the "right" small dog, and preferably one that would get along well with our eleven-year old cat, Mr. Jones. Kym (Dixon's foster mom) assured us that Dixon was a total sweetheart, but with a ton of energy! After spending an hour or so hanging with Dixon, we decided to put our application in. Kym said she would check our references and get back to us later that day to let us know if we were approved or not. We left, but kept coming back to check on whom would hopefully be our little friend! A few hours later, we finally got the call we had been waiting for and Dixon came home with us the very next day! We renamed him Woody, after the brew festival we were in town for. It fits him well, and he fits us well!
