The Adventures of Droopy Dog

Today the couple came back and this time they took me with them (I guess they bought me that first day, put down a deposit and everything), but wanted to get everything ready for me at home, and even arranged to get a couple of days off from work so that they could spend a long weekend with me to get me comfortable in my new “home”!!!! Finally off we went, so many new things to explore, and my new owners were just oohing and awing over me the whole time, giving me all kinds of hugs and kisses, so I quickly warmed up, and when we arrived, I realized I was one of the lucky ones, I was going to have a really nice home!!!!

They decided to call me Droopy, that’s a nice enough name, and I guess I have to admit, it does suit me, however they keep referring to this cartoon character “Droopy Dog” and they laugh, I’m not sure what that is all about, but I guess I’m too young to know what that means, oh well, I don’t care, I’m about to go outside and play catch, woo-hoo!!!!!!!!!!!

Today I was just sitting in my cage at the petstore, looking out at all the people going by and wishing that someone would stop long enough to fall in love with me and take me home. Well today (even though I didn’t quite know it yet) that was about to happen. My wonderful owners stopped and looked at me through the glass cage, I thought to myself that this young couple seemed nice enough, I noticed that the woman started getting really excited (I couldn’t hear what she was saying) but she seemed really interested, the man just kept smiling and then they walked away, next thing I know one of the nice petstore employees took me out and brought me to the “play area” to meet this nice couple. Well wouldn’t you know it, I wanted to make a really good impression, but I had a really bad cold (kennel cough is what they call it). Anyway, as soon as they put me down, they both started going on about how cute I was (I already knew that, but now it was time to charm them), I instantly felt good about this, so I went up to both of them and was snuggling and jumping up BUT then as hard as I tried to control it, I started sneezing, and my nose starting running (OH NO I thought, will they still want me???), the woman said, “oh poor puppy, do you have a cold?” and instead of being revolted, she picked me up to console me, the nice man did the same, and I knew I just had to go home with them. Then the petstore employee picked me up and put me back in my cage. The 2 nice people came back by my cage – they sat and looked at me for awhile and they were talking to each other, they walked away, and then they came back and looked at me again, they looked happy but sad and then they walked away, oh no I thought, no no please come back, what did I do wrong??????? ……..

A little while later, the petstore employee moved me to another cage, with another dog (not the friendliest dog – he kept trying to bite me and all I could think of was that nice couple and why they didn’t want me?) I was so sad ----- the next day, that couple came back and looked at me through the glass again, that mean dog was picking on me again and the woman looked really sad and upset by this ----- but again they left without me......
