Arrival Story: It was destined to be. I had a dream early Tuesday morning, October 5, 2010 that the perfect yellow and white labby boy was dropped in my arms and I named him Roudy (rhymes with Boudy). Later that morning I went on petfinder and lo and behold, there was a six week old yellow and white labby mix male puppy at the humane society in Marshall, TX (the city I work in). The info said that they would not adopt him outside of Harrison County, TX, but I live in Louisiana! I made an elaborate scheme where my boss, who lives in Marshall would go adopt him for me. The more I thought about it, I couldn't do that - it was dishonest.
Wednesday morning, I called the humane society and talked to the shelter director, Sally. She said they do make exceptions (on the website it said NO EXCEPTIONS) and that I should come meet Wee Willie (that was his shelter name). I met and fell in love with him. His momma is a yellow lab and he was surrendered by the family. Turns out, Sally and I both worked at the emergency pet shelter after Hurricane Katrina (where I got Goldie, Boudy’s mommy dog). She told me that usually they don’t put baby puppies up on the website due to the enormous amount of calls that they get from out of town people (like me) but that morning for some reason she felt like she should put his picture up.
Can you believe that? She put him up the same morning I had the dream and then went and looked on petfinder. It was meant to be! I told her about my dream and we both got chills and stood there with our jaws on the ground.
The day I met and fell in love with Roudy was the 3 month anniversary of Boudreaux's (Also known as Boudy) journey to the Bridge after his battle with cancer. I wonder if Bou sent this little angel to me?

Bio: After losing two precious pups in less than 3 months, Roudy is helping to heal my broken heart!
