 Quick Bio:
 Gotcha Date: September 4th 2000
 Birthday: June 25th 2000
Likes: Riley likes to be with the pack, which consists of myself and my husband.

Pet-Peeves: Not getting out the door fast enough when you ask him "What to go for a ride?"

Favorite Toy: old, flat, former plushys

Favorite Food: I'd eat anything, but I have allergies so I have a limited diet...darn!

Favorite Walk: On the trail, off leash.

Best Tricks: I hold the treat and say "stay", he waits until I say "touch" and he touches his nose to my open palm.

Arrival Story: My husband and I were visiting family in Chicago. He told me that he had an errand to run and what I didn't know was that he was looking at dogs. He went to a store that only sold puppies and the owner showed him this little bundle of cuteness. Now...we didn't realize or even know anything about puppy mills when we got Riley. Now we do now and do not condone what goes on in them. Riley turned out to be healthy...thank goodness. It was really stressful because I had never had a dog. A Soft Coated Wheaten. Who knew? Well I read a zillion books and he turn out to be a breeze to train and I gained a lot of confidence in my own abilities. He has always been respectful of anything the belongs to us (human smell?), he doesn't jump on furniture unless invited, was house trained in 5 weeks and even at an advanced age, can learn new tricks. Ten years later he is still a joy and a real member of our little family. We refer to him as our "doggy son". He's big at giving the "Wheaten Greet'in" to anyone that comes to the door or walks by or whatever. Some dog trainers say that jumping on people is a negative behavior. The haven't worked with Wheatens.
I love my two guys and the fluffy one....well he doesn't care if I drop food on the floor and don't pick it up. More for him to eat!

Forums Motto: I love to do my Wheaten Greet'in
